The City Manager and City Engineer stressed the point that there was
qti a: problem in regard, to sewage disposal in the fringe areas of the City.
Councilman Van Bebber noted that this problem had been brought out in the
committee °'s report with the suggestion 'that the City inform the County of the

i Supervisor Shoemaker addressed the Council stating that he was very
pleased. that the City is accepting the idea. of somewhat of a =r al
re�gponsibil.ity to pr. °vide a means .o f -proper sewage facilities to the fringe areas,
In. conclusion, the City - Attorney was directed' to prepare a tentative
resolution regarding the policy of the Council on_ outside sewer connections,
said. -re's;olution to be drawn up along the following lines:

.10 Sewer connections for individual homes should be granted
only to those immediately adjacent to the City.
20 . Should there be any extended connections required, those
connections would be ubject `to the f

district, in so far as practicable.

to the Council by two students, Miss Susan Miller and Miss Marla Darner,
were answered ,by Mayor Paent aid City- Engineer Russell Ingrarno

Councilman C'rinella, . Chairman of the subject committee, reported the
committee "s recommendation that the rate increases requested by the taxi-cab
ovune:rs be granted'. He remarked that the proposed new . rates were very
much in line with those of other cities. Councilman°Crinella informed the

Engineer; Harry Jenks, to perform the necessary engineering design for a
chlorination station on the sewer effluent, submitted'and - filed.
