At the request of Councilman King Supervisor Shoemaker gave his opinion on.- subject, that the City of Petaluma had no mosquito - problem. The City Manager was, directed to replay to the letter from the Sonoma Mosquito Abatement District. Director of Public Works VII Report on',Emergency Repairs, Bulkhead North , of Wash, St. Bridge Report of. City Engineer dated Feb. 14, ed 1o95`8', re bulkhead failure North of 'W'a Street Bridge submitted and filed, City. Engineer Russell Ingram reported that during recent storms, a section of about 30` in length of bulkhead had* slipped out just ,North of the .'Washington Street Bridge, and that this was an emergency which he believed :shoul:d_be: taken care of as soon a.s possible, t,' Councilman King the C tyBs responsibility in the upkeep of these bulkheads. Kenilworth Park Restrooms Discussion Considerable discussion took place relative to whether temporary _restrooms should' be installed in Kenilworth Park, .or if the City should wait until there 'was a definite plan for a recreation building in the Park before constructing restrooms there. Dalton Dray, Recreation Commissioner, addressed the Council r. questing that temporary restrooms be installed at, Kenilworth Park as soon as :possible; and .suggesting .that these facilities could. be used in Oak Hill Park :when .the need for .thetas no existed in Kenilworth Park In conclusion, the City' Engineer was directed to prepare a rough draft of .a.,recreation. building for Kenilworth Park, together' with various facts and ftgLres fln the project,. to have before the Council for their consideration at next 1VIoiday night's meetings At this time, Mayor Patent, asked that the press publicize the fact that if any citizens have ideas or'suggestions as to how .the money in the Auditorium Building Fund should be put to use, the Council would very much appreciate hea.r.ng from them. The City Engineer .was directed to check. into' this to see what could,be done to correct the _situation, City Garbage DisposdI Area Councilman Cririella suggested that the City consider buying some land about 5 or 6 miles out of town to .be used for ;a City garbage disposal area " If, the area was large. enough, he felt that it might be possible to lease a portion of it to the fertilizer plarit which is now 'located just outside the City.
