Boat Harbor
Alex Csutoras,- representative of the Petaluma Outdoorsmen requested
t:iat the. City attempt to 'acquire a certain parcel of land :which had been
proposed for' a boat harbor site,, and which he understood the State was
planning to sell by public auction in the near future.,
Vlayor'Parent informed Mr, - ,Csutoras that the Council had been keeping
a. close. watch on, this matter.
City Manager" Ed: Frank stated that he had been assured by the Division
6f - Highways that the proper in question would not be touched by any public
agency until tt,e City of'Petaluma. and the County of Sonoma decided whether or
not they were interested in the property. To a question by Councilman
Gustafson, Mr.. Frank - answered that there would be a report in tte budget
relatiye to the possibility of purchasing the land on some sort of installment
Plans . ,
City Engineer Russel Ingram informed the Council that the State had a
number of plans for small boat harbors before it at this time, - and was anxious
to: start work on one of these plans to be used as an example for future harbors.
He went on to say that the State had seen Petaluma - 's proposed and had
liked it; very much. M ;Ingram explained that the first harbor to be
constructed would probably receive special attention; therefore, - he felt that
the City should proceed .with plans for the - harbor as soon as possible.
Mayor Parent assured Mr. 'Csutoras that _the ma_ tter would be considered
in, f4e,` budget for 1958-59._
