The Clerk read the !?ayor o s call for meeting, ` 'the co.6s ent
of t- he..members.of the City Council to the holding of said meeting,
and the certificate of the City. Clerk of the mailing of notices
for said me „-
Re Hopper and Darla Sewers
Mr. Donald Tml:: d, Dir. of Public ;forks, recommended to
the ' Council that the construction of the' Hopper and Dana St. sewers
be done by the Dept. of" Public ;70rks, rather than re- advertising
for bids. . He stated that he felt that the work can be'done by
the ;City for less than "8000000 as compared with the lowest bid
rece Lved on Aug. 18, 1p,52 of ' ?11,210.00.
A general, discussion was had on procedures required to
,, carry-,,. out the' project under the Dept. of Public works and it was
agr°6k that the work be done under the supervision of the Director
of Public ;orks;_that he be empowered to employ necessary. construction
workers, and to arrane for the rental of construction equipment,
including operators thereof. He was also directed- advertise
for bidis for pipe needed . for the work.

would probably furnish men and most of the equi rent needed for
the pro;ject In order to 'ceep a clear record of the work, the
