He pointed out that the committee was not so much interested' the, -financing of the pL s s on f. the sites. °chase sites a� the, location •o L , Councilman , Adams indicated that he believed the electorate should be given the opportunity of e3�pressln; its wishes on the matter of whether or not bonds should be issued for this purpose. He also suggested that the program be financed on a pay -as- you -go basis using parking meter funds therefor. Councilman Brown expressed the thought that more study was needed on the matter of marketinry the bonds; wh! t legal costs vrould be involved; what interest rate the bonds would bear, and how Ion it woul take to pay off the bonds. He estim ated that a 1200 issue, payable over 20 years, at an estimated -int,erest rate of 4 %,would require the payment of !84,000. interest. Ile'also pointed out that the City does not know what the revenue wi_j be from the proposed sites. fie also stated that he would like to have the endorsement of the �Merchant v s Committee to the plan before acting on it, and also their recommendation as to whether or not the proposition should be submitted to the voters.
