ROLL ',CALL Present: Councilmen Adams, Brown, Gustafson, Norwood, Schwobeda and Mayor Schoeningh. Absent: Councilman Bigelow. APPROVAL OF MINUTES' Minutes from the meeting of May 16, 1955, were approved as recorded. REPORTS' OF CITY OFFICIALS City 'Manager Claims approved for payment by .the City Manager - were submitted, whereupon, Res. #1492 N.C.S. introduced by Councilman Adams, seconded by Councilman Schwobeda, approving claims and bills (Nos. 3998 to 4022 inclusive) was adopted -by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee. Committee Reports Kenilworth Park Restrooms Bids Report daEed May 23 19 , su mitted by the committee chosen to study the bids for re'strooms in Kenilworth Park was read and filed by the City Clerk.. The report contained the following recommendations: 1. That the Master Plan of devel opment for the Kenilworth P.14y Area be altered to relocate the proposed Recreation B lding on the southwest corner of the property, and eliminate the separate restroom building proposed on the plan. 2. That the Engineering Dept. be instructed to re- design the restroom building as soon as possible so that when the building is constructed., it will become a part of the proposed Recreation Building, and be so planned as to .permit entrance to the re'strooms from outside as well as inside of the building. 3. The facilities planned for this area, such- as.horseshoe pits be relocated to the northeastern part of the property to make room for a proposed dual' purpose building. 4. That all bids be rejected at this time, and bidders will have the opportunity to submit new bids on building after plans have been re-drawn; whereupon, Res. #1493 N.C.S. introduced by Councilman Gustafson, seconded by Councilman Brown, entitled, '!RE50LUTION REJECTING BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION'. OF RESTROOMS ON THE CITY PROPERTY IN KENILWORTH PARK AUTHORIZED BY ORDINANCE NO. 382 N.C.S." was adopted by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee. Councilman Brown added that new plans Would be submitted by the Director of Public Works as soon as possible for the consideration of the Council. City Attorney Karl Brooks was directed to draw up a resolution of policy in regard to 4 construction of streets in accordance with the commiu recommendation. Mr. Brooks was also directed to submit an ordinance, as soon as possible setting forth an agreement with the property owners on Project 3. AND EXISTING CHURCH BUILDIN FROM RE RQ UIR - NTS FOR OFF-STREET PARKING TIM E NO ADJOINING 'UNIMPROVED LAND IS AVAILABLE." adopted by 6 affirmative votes., 1 absentee. " adopted by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee. At the suggestion of Councilman Schwobeda, the Council unanimously agreed to present lAr. Seiler with a plaque in apprecia- tion of his services to the City. Councilman Norwood then proposed a Council Policy in regard to presentation of plaques, whereby a person serving the City for a certain length of time would automatically receive a plaque upon resignation. Councilmen Adams and Brown were appointed on the committee and the City T,Tanager was directed to serve as consultant or alternate when needed..
