Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called
to order by Acting Mayor Walter Brown.
ROLL'CALL:
Present: Councilmen Adams, Bigelow, Brown, Gustafson, Norwood
and Schwobi0da.
Absent: Mayor'Schoeningh.
INVOCATION:
Invocation was given by Reverend George Otto, Congregational
Church.. Acting Mayor Brown congratulated Rev. Otto on his recent
appointment' stating that he hoped he would be here for many years.
APPROVAL OF MIDUTES:
Minutes from the meeting of June 6, 19,55; were apprbved as
recorded.
CONSIDERATION OF BIDS:
Cite Clerk Gladys R. Wallin announced that a bid had been
received from the Petaluma Argus-Courier, and proceeded to open
a nd ' said bid; whereupon,

Report on Bids Received - Insurance for city of.Petaluma
Report dated June - 20, 1955, outli names of various
insurance companies who had submitted bids, and signed by
Councilmen Norwood & Bigelow, City Manager Edward Frank and
David King &. Americo'Gervasoni, advisors; recommending that the
Carpenter Agency be awarded both'the casualty and fire insurance
for the City of Petaluma, was read and filed.
The matter was then referred to the City Attorney for
legislation. City Manager Ed Frank was directed to see that the
entire City was covered by midnight, Jun.6 30, 1955.

Monthly reports of the Police Dept. and Library were

Acting Mayor Brown commented on the report submitted by the
Police Dept., rioting the increase in mileage which he attributed
to the near; annexations; or," general growth of the City. He
reNarke that, in. spite of thus, operating costs were !very nominal,
and "commended the Department on the fine fob 'they were doing.

the precincts and polling places'and appointed the members of the
precinct boards for the general election to be held in said City
of Petaluma on June 14,'1955, as required law, for the object
and purpose of electing the following municipal officers of said
City of Petaluma.
Three (3) Councilmen, for the full term of
four (4) years;
