-Bob uIells, of the Argus-Courier, reviewed discussion which took
place-at a recent meeting at the Poultry Producers at whichrepresen-
tative.s.of the Poultry Producers; Chamber of Commerc,e Linesi
U. Army Engineers,, and Congressman Scudder were present.,
Although this matter was not on the agenda for this meeting'
Mr.. Frank explained that it-had just been received and that he had
asked the City Attorney to prepare a resolution on it in.order to
get it before the Council. Said resolution was introduced by
Councilman King but failed for lack of a second.
Mayor Schoeningh asked that the members of the Council study
the matter and with the consent of the Council it was ordered placed
on the Agenda for the next Council meeting.

City, Manager
Listing of claims approved for pay by the City Mana, Qr.,
w ere submitted and filed. Cou King questioned claim, S,94* for
the installation of a hydrant at Middlefield-and Steven Drive. I't
was explained by Chief Nielsen that this'hydrant,i not in a sub-
division but is a part of the 1954.Southeast-Annexation. He also
questioned claim T818 Duncan Parking, Meter Corp. for $150.00.
representing the monthly payment under a lease contract . 9 questioning
the right of the City to award a contract over $750.00 without
advertising for bids thereon. City Attorney Karl Brooks. stated t * that
probably the only way it could be determined was if someone woul
file a taxpayers suit.

Ed. PYank reported that he had determined that the lot
formerly considered by the Council as a part of the Parking District
may be rented for-the sum of '$100.00 per month. The lease is on :a
lot 80 x 105 for as long as the City wishes,,
Following a brief discussion the matter was tabled for the time
being.- -

Re Wickersham Park.stora-r tank
Letter dated. Aug. 317'; redoninending that the Council
consider the installation of a-50.00 g,4llon water storage tank in
, Wi.ckersham Park in order to increase the pressure of the sprinkling'

A question regarding the infrequent use of the fire alarm.system
for turning in fire alarms was brought up by Councilman King. Chief
Nielsen explained that the Bd. o ' f Fire Underwriters in the State Of
California still rates the City points on an alarm system,
while it is,�notused often for fire alarms, it is used very frequently.

Police Station
The Verbal request of Reynolds Construction Co. that the Q'ity!
accept the.Petaluma Police Station was discussedo Inasmuch as�some
of the electronic equipment is not working satisfacto * rily, no^action
was taken on the acceptance.of the contract. City lvlianager,Ed.Frank
was asked to communicate with Mr. Reynolds and advise him of the
status of the matter.

not yet been brought to light that this matter would be held over
until the next regular meeting.

Mayor Schoeningh appointed Councilman King., Chairman, and Council-
men Gustafsoil'and.Bigelow members of a Committee to study the matter
of a plan and policy for Oalc Hill Park, keeping in mind the request
of the-California VVater Co. for easements.
Curb and gutter - Upham St.
Jirlr. zrank pointed out that the Petaluma Co-operative Creamery
is,willing-to do the work of installing new curb and gutters and also
take care of certain items of drainage, but the question is
or not the street should be widened.2► because of the large trucks
parked in that area.
Following a discussion Mayor SQhoeningh appointed Councilman
Brown Chairman, and Councilman Norwood and himself as members of a
Committee to study the matter and report back to the Council.
