Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called
to order by Mayor Schoeningh.
ROLL, CALL:
Present: Councilmen Adams, Brown, Gustafson, King, Norwood
and Mayor Schoeningh.
Absent: Councilman Bigelow.

Invocation was given by Reverend Nickolas Taylor, Church of
Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints.
APPROVAL, OF MINUTES
Councilman Norwood called attention'to an. item in the minutes
of November 7, re moving of the Greyhound Bus stop. He requested
that the wording, "down the street " changed to read, "up the
street ". The Clerk was directed to make th change, and minutes
from the meeting of November 7,,1955, were then approved.

Mayor Schoeningh announced that word had been received from
Mr. Sturgis to the effect that the resolut re sale of bonds
which. was to be presented to the Council at this time was not ready
in its final form.. The matter was held over until the adjourned
meeting: of Monday, Nov. 28, 1955.

Mayor Schoeningh remarked that it was With one voice that the
Council - had chosen Mr. Eaglin as.the successor to Chief Nielsen.

expenses and signed by John W. Cavanagh, Jr., Secretary, Board
Freeholders, read and filed.
Mayor Schoeningh directed the City Attorney to draw up a.
resolution in acc'brdance - with the above request to be presented
to the Council at the adjourned meeting of Nov. 28,'1955.

Mayor Schoeningh remarked that, although this.would come as
a shock to some, .the Countii had been aware of Mr. Brooks1 desire
to resign his position for some ' time,.. due to the fact that the
duties of City Attorney have increasingly interferred with his
private practice of law.. "The Mayor stated - that the Council was
also Well aware of the fact that it would be quite difficult to
replace Mr. Brooks.

City Manager -
Claims approved for payment by the City,Manager were submitted;
whereupon,

approving claims and bills (Nos. 1590 to 1783 inclusive.) was,
adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Adams, Bigelow;'Brown, Gustafson,
Norwood and'Mayor Schoeningh.
Noes: Councilman King.
Report re Li },-ht ne: & Ground Impr o v ement - City Hall
Mr. Montgomery, of the P. G. - "& E. Company, presented each
Councilman wit h a sketch of two proposed lighting plans. Mr. Frank:
informed the Council that the approximate cost of the entire
lighting project, using the plan where the lights were in one
location, would total about 250.00
Councilman King called attention to the fact that the City
Hall construction_ fund was nearly depleted. ..Mr. Frank stated that
he was going to check with.the City Auditor as to the best place
to appropriate the money.
The matter was held over until a more definite estimate as to
the cost of each project,*and also a report as to the availability
of funds for the project could be obtained.

Mayor Schoeni.ngh stated hat he. had been requested to hold
this matter over -until the next regular meeting, so that the
people residing on East Washington Street,would have time to
become acquainted with exactly what a rezone would do to their
property. The Council was in agreement with this line of thought.

CONSIDERAT OF UNFINISHED BUSINES cunt.
Re Oak Hill Park
Councilman Gustafson asked if any - progress was being made on
the Oak Hill Park Plan & Policy. Councilman King informed him
that the City Manager was having.a crew check to see if there were
still. human,.remains buried in the park. He stated that nothing
further could be done until this was determined.
Re Capital Outlay
The subject of a meeting on capital outlay was also brought
up by Councilman Mayor Schoeningh suggested that the
Council meet as a committee after the next meeting to discuss this
subject.
Fire Chief Dan Nielsen addressed the Council expressing his
appreciation of the cooperation they had given him while he had
been Fire Chief, and congratulating the Council and City Manager
on the appointment of J. M. Eaglin.
