ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen Adams, Bigelow, Brown, Gustafson, King, Norwood and Mayor SchoenIingh.' Absent: None. IN`TOCATION. invocation Was given by Reverend James Cloherty,. Catholic Church. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mayor Schoeningh called .attention to the portion of the meeting of Nov. 28, 1955, when Mr. Bob Brunner entered , the Council Chambers and requested to know what action had been taken on the Freeholders' budget. The Mayor asked that an exact transcript of the meeting, from the - portion- wherein -Mr.. Brunner had stated, "'Of - course they didn''t say. that,' but I mean, after all., we're coming in with the charter next Tuesday night' :...... ............ ", to adjournment, be added to the minutes as a matter of record. Minutes from the meeting - of Nov. 28, 1955, were then approved... CONSIDERATION OF BIDS: ''A'" Street .Parking, Lot This being the 'time set for opening bids on the "A'-',Street Parking Lot, the Clerk. announced that 5 bids had been received. PETITIONS &. COMMUNICATIONS Letter from' the Petaluma Board of Education dated Oct. 17, 1955, signed by Dwight E. At the suggestion "of C­Oun6ilixiah K ing the Council agreed- with the exception of Councilman Bigelow, that this matter should be set for "ubH6 p-, hearing in the near future, so that the Council could d6cddo whether or not the street should clos'e4 permanent ly and submit their decision to the B_oard. of Education. Councilman Bigelow .0 ressed the opinion that the stX,60t should not be closed permanently remarking that he� could see, no reason for doing so. Dr. Dwight Twist add�k ssed the Council stating that 'the Board of Education `would like, an answer in the 'near . future as to whether th he street could be - closed permanently within the next 2 or 3 years, so that they could notify representatives of the State accordingly. He remarked that this. wou be, important in allowing the Board of Education to progress with tha, scichoi0l, plans without delay. The matter was to be put on the agenda for the fir m&eting:in jaftuipary, for discussion and setting a date for I - hearing. A -5 minute recess was called at this time for study of the map on the proposed sewer. line, The . m. eeting was .cailed back I to order. Mayor Schoeningh directed the City Attorney., to set a date for a meeting with the property owners involved, Mr.* Brooks and, the City' Engineer to, acquaint the property owners'w , ith the estimated cost of the. project. . The ,property owners could then decide What method of financing;' etc ;, 'th&y wished to use for construction of the sower line.
