Regular meeting of the Council of the City of'Petaluma called to order by
Mayor' Schoeningh

Absent: Councilmen Bigelow and King.

Invocation was given by Reverend James Kiely, Catholic Church.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES.
Minutes from the meeting of February 20, 1956, were approved as recorded.

At the suggestion of Coun6i1man,Kihg,..a Meeting is to be held by the
City Attorne y, the attorney for ' insurance' company and members of the Council
to further -discuss the matter. The City Attbrney was directed to notify the
City
Council when the meeting was to be held. Mayor Schoeningh suggested that the
City Man' ager also attend this meeting.

Mayor Schoeningh announced that a resolution which had been on the
agenda, kcepting , extension of option on the Gervdsoni property, would not be
necessary at this time as time had not as ye t ei4pse

Afte.r the reading of the resolution, Councilman King stated that he could
remien-ibeit the 'Original bonds pledging the net revenue from the parking meters,
but .that he could not remember it stating the net revenue from the parking lots
would .be used.
Mayor Schoen.ingh informed Councilman King that it was always the case
that the revenue from both . the meters and the lots themselves - would go to
redeem the bonds.
Councilman .Brown explained that the money from parking lots in particular
would have to be used for redemption of the bonds: because they are being
si&0.dized on street meters
The resolution was then adopted as follows.

At the suggestion of Councilman Brown, City Manager Edward Frank
explained. what would transpire Monday morning - regarding. the sale of bonds.

Mr. Frank stated that Mn had been h,6 r6 today working with the title
comp I and Mr. Robert making arrangements for t,he'delivety and 'sale of the
bonds next Monday: He stated that warrants made` payable to the Sonoma County
Land TitleCo. in payment of the Garvasoni property and the two Vonsen pieces
should be ready to deliver to the representative of the title company simultaneously
with the receipt of the money from the sale of the bonds and the title insurance
polioies, Mr. pointed out that this resolution was not legally necessary
but that the City Clerk and himself felt there should b0'a resolution so that the
Council would b I e informed as to the procedure to.,b.6 followed and that the trans-
act I ion ,Would be clearly recorded an the books of the City.

Councilman Gtistkafsoii brought up the subject of City crews working

noise, and that he had received many con. fror* the public.
Mr. Frank informed Councilman Gastafson that the situation had already
been attended to and would riot cqrn . e up again,,

Councilman King repoii Water Company bad offered the City
$750.00, based on the easement as suggested' the Committee., or $500.00
based on immediately tearirig the existing 'line out and putting the new line -
along the line of the park. He stated that the Water Company would pr efer
the extension of the line right now rather than having*an agreement with the
City that at some future date they milght have to h1ove it.
At the suggestion of Mayor Schoeningh, the Cornmitt " ee was directed to

problem as to uniform lengths and depths of many lots.
The City Manager Was directed to confer with the Planning Commission
on the problem.

handle the matter any further,. the Mayor suggested that the people who had
eci,.tre petition be given a chance to appear before the Council and state
thei'.t, reasons for objecting to the rezoning. He stated that he did not know why
these people had not appeared at the public hearing on the subject, unless they
were not aware of the fact that they should appear before the Council at the time
the public; hearing was held on the matter.
The Mayor then read the petition and one of the letters which had been
subrxittd to the Planning Commission. The letter had been signed by Mr. & Mrs.
Spalding of 183 Payran Street and was dated Feb. 20, 1956.
After some discussion on the subject, the City Clerk was directed to
write letters to all of the people who had signed the petition and the two letters,
informing them that they would be welcome to any regular Council meeting.
Re Recent Storm. Damage Relief Funds
The City Manager reported to the Council that the City's disaster relief
project application had been approved by the office of Civil Defense, and that
there will be approximately $1, OS3 52 which the City will be reimbursed for on
extra time and work done during the flood.
Mayor Schoeningl? announced that the Council had been extended an
nvitation,by the Chamber `of Commerce to go with there to the Waugh Farm
Center tomorrow, where there will be some discussion on the proposed uniform
sales tax'„
