exception of Councilmen Adams and Gustafson, seemed to feel that

Councilman Ki-hg'-referr.,ed to a, claim in the amount of $745.24
in the''name of Ed Jarvis for furnishing materials and labor for
installation of - conduit under ' the nbw._ freeway. He': stated that he
seen another bill '.go 'through on this fob for -'ap , Qxlmatel ' the sae
amount and'requested'to know if the entire job had'actually cost

City Engineer. Russell N. Ingram informed Councilman King that
the lAa.terials for this job were purchased by the 'contractor, and the
City was actually reimbursing the contractor f.or materials purchased,
etc.

a bid for'more meters than were called for -in' the Notice to,tiidders.
Councilman King stated that he believed-the resolution before
the Council should-mentibn the fact that the Miller Meter Company
was to $18.00 per meter on certain meters being turhed'in -by
the City.

D;esiZatibn of School Districts re Future Annexations,-

Letter Trom Payran School Board dated May 5, 1956', requesting
the Council to inau gurate a firm policy-on of subdivi-
sions that are taken into the City in the future as to whether or
not they-will be taken into the City School District, read-and filed.
Mlayor Schoeningh reviewed what had ta ken place to date on
this subject, stating that a meeting of the two School 'Boards:
involved.had -be.en held since the last Council meeting.. and invited
members of the Petaluma and Payran School Boards who - were seated'in
the audience to voice their opinions.
A lengthy discussion followed, during which members of the
audience and various Councilmen spoke on the subject:.
r1:;mbe:i�: s of the Petaluma School Board, .including, Dr. Dwight
Tvrist Mrs. Helen Putnam, Dr. C.. A. Stimson and Dr,. Hall Weston,
expressed a, desire that the Council defer action on - this matter until
they could work out ' long range boundary program with Pa yran School
District.

Trlembers of the Payran School Board, including Mr. Vernon C.
Iviorell'i and IAr. Bernard Eldredge, expressed the opinion that their
proposition had been'put before the City Council at.the last meet -
ing and that they 'would stand on -that. Mr. Eldredge expressed the
doubt that a definite boundary line would be'the answer to
problem. They asked that the Council set a definite policy as to
Whether or not they will include any future annexation in the
Petaluma,School District.
The matter was finally tabled, and Mayor Schoeningh directed
.the C - ty,Ivianager toll keep the Council up to date on the activities
of the 'Sckiool Boards on this subject.
Re Oak Hill Park Improvement, etc.

made in Oak Hill Park.
The City Engineer reported that it was now up to his office
to prepare some detailed plans on the street.work to be done in the
par's. He requested to know the Council's plans for - future disposi-
tj n of the property, on the north side of the road, so that he could
lay the necessary utilities lines, etc:, -under the street,*if the
property is to be sold.
Following a discussion, it was.decided.that utilities should
not be - laid under the new road at the present time, and.that the
Council would await the decision of the Recreation Commission as to
what should'be done with the balance.of the park on the North side
of the road,
