Adjourned meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma
called to order by Mayor Woodson.

Present: Councilmen Brown, Deiss; King, Penry, Seidell
and Mayor Wood
Absenty Councilman Myers.
PETITIONS AND COP. , 'NICAT
The City Attorney reported that decision No. 39.433 was re
ceived fr,:om the State Railroad- Commission that it had granted
to . the Petaluma and Santa' Rosa Railroad company, authority to
construct an industrial spur track along First street and .across
E .street to serve the ,new M. Vonsen Company- wa.rehouse.
Election peti -ions.
Communication from the City Attorney Karl.."Brooks. ' re
Petitions for an Election of a Board of Freeholders of the City
of Petaluma to Frame a Proposed New Charter was read stating
that the petitions were declared by the County Clerk1s office
to be irregular in that the igners to the petitions had; - not
been precincted nor had the petition circulators filed.accompany-
ing affidavits snovving the sitnatures were made in the presence of
the circulator as required by law. Mr- Brooks further stated that
he was not prepared at this time to give an opinion as to the
correct procedure to be followed, as to whether the present
Petitions could be amended and refiled. The Clerk was directed
to advise Mr. Lei_, Shoemaker of the _situtaion that developed,
State Compensation Ins. Fd.
Communication.. from the State Compensation Insurance
Fund in which a check in the sum of $ 952.42, represer brig
a: sawing of 57 per cent in the cost of workmen's compensation,
Was enclosed, Mr. J. J. Gallagher of the Insurance Company
complimented the city on its accident. prevention record, read
and riled.
