ROLL CALL:
Present,: Councilmen Deiss, King, Mjnogue,Myer,9... Seidell,
Shoemaker, and Mayor Woodson.'
READING OF THE CALL:
The CIerk read the Mayorts call for meetin 9 tjjQ,qqns,ent
of the members of the City Council tot-he holding of said meeting
and the certificate of the Clerk . .Of mailing notices of said meeting
to the members of the'City Council,*,,
Vice President Myers presiding officer:
On the suggestion of Councilman Shoemaker,, Mayor Woodson
disqualified himself as presiding officer Whereupon Vice President
Myers the meeting.

City Attorney Karl Brooks explained the purpose of said
'Ordinance, stating that It is prohibition'against obstruction of
entrances and exits to places of busiftes89'that it is not designed
to pirohbit mass pickdting but is directed picketing which is done
by means or acts or threat's of violence;_ that'said 'ordinance 'Was
drafted similar legislation adopted by the County of Yolo
,and the City of Los Angele a.
Councilman King and.Shoemaker expressed the opinion that
said ordinance Was a diiplication of laws already In effect; that they
felt it would be poor'jud�pent oh the part of the Council to adopt
,.sucha'n,ordinance during progress of a local strike and that such
act ion would appear to be specifically pointed at a particular group
of p eople. For said . reasons: the'y were not iri favor of its adoption.
Councilman 8'eldell expressed himself as•bein_g it favor of the
ordinance as a protection of the civil rights of our citizens.
The, ordinance was passed to print by "the following vote:
A Counollmen Deiss, -minogue, Myers, Seidell.. and Mayor
Woodson.
NOES: Councilmen King and 'Shoemaker.
ABSENT,: None.
ADJOURNMENT: There being-no further business to come be re the
meetllng,, meeting was declared adjourned.
