Bros; Basalt Rock Co.. and property owners on.G St. between 7th and
8th Streets, for the construction of curbs and gutters'on said street.
Impv. of McNear Park:
The Clerk also reported the filing of. and'specifications
for the improvement of McNear Park covering."the following work:
a. grading and leveling ball grounds and removing trees and
shrubbery;
b: moving rest- building;
c. Furnishing and installing wire fence;

Request for cancellation of'taxes levied against City:
Resolution #42 N.C.S.
introduced by Councilman Deiss, seconded by Councilman Myers,
entitled, "Resolution requesting order of Board of _Supervisors
for cancellation of taxes levied against the lCity of ,Petaluma _
under tax - bill. N:o.. 38738 for tax year 1947 -48" . was adopted by.

Clearing title to Shoe Factory ppty
On the'. sub of the property owned by the City of
Petaluma and known as the Shoe Factory, City Attorney Karl
Brooks submitted a Deed for signature'of the Council, stating,:
tha't' deed covers the Petaluma Box Factory property, the
title of which was involved in the action-by the. City against
the County to recover taxes and cancelling certain taxes.; the
property had been originally conveyed to the Trustees of the
City of. Petaluma for use 'as a Shoe Factory which purpose has
long since:, been accomplished and it has been thought that 'the
title to "the property might be' further cleared if' a deed
were executed by the members of the .City Council Trustees
of the City, of Petaluma to the City'.

Radio Interference
City Manager Lohn R. Ficklin reported having met With
Mr. Morgan of the P,.G;.E., radio dealers and one eleetr grow ical,,
contractor regarding radio interference and,that said p
had agreed'on a'simpl ordinance which will authoriz °e a.test
which any layman can make. The matter was left in the.. hands
of the City. Manager and City Attorney to prepa -re the proposed
ordinance.
Re :Harris sewer installation:
The City Manager reported that the relationship between
Mr. Harris and the City of Petaluma officials is now 'of the'
highest order,; that arrangements have been madiz with a,firm
in San Mateo who w ill be here on Deemb �rith�: a 'boring
machine and it is expected that the' sewer. wi 11; .be installed
on said date, the cost is estimated at about .0300.00:". ..

Mrs. John Olmsted., Jr. addressed- Council -sugge`sting

introduced by Councilman King, seconded by Councilman Seidell,

.Consideration of the Rules of Order and Procedure prepared by
the City Manager, was deferred until the next meeting of the City
Council.
''. Sewage treatment plant rates, etc:
City Manager Lohn R. Ficklin reported that Mr. Lewis
Attorney for the Manning Company,was in, his office with Mr. Merner
discussing the matter of sewage rates and he had been advised that
u:nderour present ordinance, he or any other user; could buy into
our system for $12.00 per year, but that he was also advised that within
a short time there will be a different picture as far as rates are
concerned as he intends to recommend to the Council a sharp increase
in ratea for industrial users, particularly those from outside the city.
In connection with the Tanning Company, City Attorney Brooks
reported Qxat the contract approved by the city with the Laemmle
Tanning Company for the dumping of dredgings on its property had
'been-executed by city officials and submitted to Attorney Cromwell
for execution by the Laemmle Tanning Co. but that he has recently
learned that said contract was misplaced in the attorney's files
and had never been executed by the tanning company officials. This
contract contained a provision that the Laemmle Tanning Co. would
agree to save the City harmless from any damages resulting from said
contract.
Attorney Cromwell reported on the progress being made in the
cleaning out of the drainage ditch and that the company has installed.,
at its own expense, a drain line along the line between their property
on the West and th'e plant. He also stated that he
intends to have a conference with Mr. Merner soon and expects that
they can arrive at a satifactory agreement with the City on all questions
Lease of Kenilworth'Park:
Mayor Woodson reported that the'2'5 year lease, with an option
for an additional'25 years., of"Kenilworth Park to the Fourth District
Agricultural Fair has been executed by the proper city officials and
was to be delivered to the'Fair Board on Tuesday.
