Re - Street lights around Petaluma Motel:
Reports from the City Manager and the'Director of Public
Works to the..effect. that the lighting circuits around the Hotel
Petaluma have, outlived their unfulness and if the.lighting is
to be continued - it 'is necessary to try to pull replace
existing wiring; that no estimate of.cost can be made due to
unknown problems that may be involved in completing the re- wiring
of the circuits, was referred to'the City' Manager,, the Director
bf Public` Works 'and Mr. Morgan 'of the P .G: & E ®, for further
investigation, after the City Manager had'questioned , the
maintainence of extra can around the Hotel Petaluma
and stated that he did not want to undertake this expensive
repair unless the City Council was aware of the. expenditure and
had authorized it 'It was suggested that,temporary repairs
'be made until a master pl of lighting the City - be worked out.
The City Manager reported that'the Citizen' Committee for
Petaluma Is Future will' - have its first meeting Jan. :7th and
It is intenMd that it will organize and generally, lay. out its
objectives, that he has some information to present 'to said
committee on parking, traffic, general. street plan, and new
zoning ordinance;.
Sewerage:
Reference -was made to the recent report of the City Manager
on the subject of Sewerage and the City Attorney - instructed to
prepare -aresolution to present at the next'meeting of the Council
adopting said report'..

Opinion of the City Attorney re the establishment of a
Police Court, read and filed.
Findings of Planning Com. Lucy. Drees Petition;
Advice from the Secy. of the City_ Planning" Commission that
the Commission Yad denied the petition of Nis. Lucy Drees for
re.- zoning of Lot 253,, and had,notified petitioner ,,and her attorney
in, writing inviting - attention to the appeal procedure prescribed
'in, the Zoning Ordinance..

attorney had`" stated that. it was his desire to- file an amended

The Council agreed to` review the-Rules of Order' and
Pfteedure - at its adjourned meeting to be held on Jan. 12,1948,

Water rate' survey:
Cit"Attoi�ney Brooks reported that both the District Attorney

and Kennedy had,expressed the.opinion that because the
proposed water rate increase affects a part of the'County as well
Als, the. City of Petaluma,, that 'they would. be in favor of assisting
us.in the matter,. He further stated that he plan's to interview
a. firm of attorneys in San Francisco anawiil have' a full report
to make at th6fiext. Council meeting.
Educational program for reckless drivers:
The City Manager reported .pr . ogress in'the matter of a program
bf,eAucatibn"On stating that he.'is about ready to go to
the superintendOnt'of,Schools with a proposal and will report
further at an 'early date;
Radio Interference�:
The City Attorney' and* the. City Manager reported. on the

Councilman Myers to serve on Library"Ipard-
The City Attorney was instructed to_pt, a resolution
for the next meeting.of the Council appointing Councilman. Myers
as a member of the Library Trustees.
The City Attorney was instructed structed to'contact Attorney
Cromwell with refereftCe'to the execution of a contract between
the City and the Iaemmle Tanning Co.
