Adjourned meeting,of the Council for the purpose reviewing Budget Sections 50, 100., 101, 80, and 110, called to order Mayor Woodson. - ROLL CALL.: Present: Councilmen King, Iviinogue, Myers, 8eidell, Shoe- maker, and Mayor Woodson. Absent: Councilman Deiss. REPORTS OF CITY MANAGER: NAS'hington St. Bridge: Report from, the City Manager to the effect that Public Notice from the Department of Army Corps,of Engineers,, dated May 6, 1948, . makes possible the discontinuance of employment of a bridgetender on the Washington St. bridge, effective 20 May, 1948 providing the City,of Petaluma maintains con- tinuous abilty.to open the bridge upon not more than s ix hours, advance notice, such notice, to be received by the bridgetender of the D Street bridge, read and filed. Harger Drunkometer: Report from the City Manager on the subject Harger Drunkometer, together with a report, prepared jointly by the Police Judge and the Police Captain,, who made a trip to Pasadena to study proceedures of the -o- meter, read and filed. The City_.Manager recommended that the appropriation to budget section 100, Police Department.,. increased by the sum of $560. in order to install said equipment. cbIsIDERATION OF BUDGET Budget sections 50, 100, 101 80, 110, and 9q were reviewed by the Council. Police Judge Robert Burnett requested that the budget for his department be increased to allow his salary to._be fixed at $3600. per year. - Fire Chief Benoit reviewed the items under 50.:500 recommended that the budget proposal as recommended by the City Manager for this section be allowed. Police Chief Peters pointed out that if one of the Police Officers is to be sent to the F.B.'I. School in Udashington D.C. for training that the amount of $!,,000. should be included in the budget to cover this expense. The above requests were taken under consideration.
