Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called
to order '.by Vice President Myers.

Present: Councilmen Deiss, Minogue, Myers, Seidell, and Shoemaker,,
Absent: Councilman King, and Mayor Woodson.
RENEVG OF THE JOURNAL:
T e minutes of t_e last regular meeting of June 7th and the
adjourned meetings of June 11th and 15th were read and approved as
corrected.
PETITIONS, COT 4. PUBLIC HEARINGS:
Notice of the quarterly meeting of the North Bay League of
California Cities, to be held. in Eureka on July 17tA, read and filed.
Notice of meeting of the California Highway Commission, to be
held in Sacramento on June 24th,, read and filed.
Invitation to Mayor Woodson and City Officials to attend and
participate in the Variety Festival. Holidays to be held in Vallejo
on, July 3, 4, and 5, read,, filed, and accepted.
Copy of resolution adopted by the Sonoma County Board of
Supervisors approving notice of intention to sell tax deeded: property
at public auction, read and filed.
Copy of resolution adopted by the `Sonoma County Board of
Supervisors taking request of City Manager of Petaluma for an
appropriation of $5,000. for a Youth Recreation Center under advisement
tb be considered at budget time, read and filed.
Letter from the League of California Cities stating that the
State Controller's Office has arranged a series of meetings in
various parts of the State with the idea of providing an opportunity
for officials responsible for preparing reports to be used in connection
with the Collier -Burns Highway -Act, to raise questions concerning the
type of information required in said .report, -read and filed.

Assignment of Personnel under dates.of June 10th and 15th,

Retirement Plan:
The City Manager gave a verbal report on the establishment
of a retirement system for municipal employees, stating that it is
desireable to constitute a cormnittee, representing all interests which

will consider the program as it develops. He suggested that the
Committee have three members, to- wit: one Councilman; one, represent-
ative of the city's administrative officials, and one representative o� th
city's regular employees. . Action -on the'matter was deferred until
Mayor Woodson can be present to appoint a Councilman to represent the
City Council.

The City Clerk and Auditor reported on her attendance
at the 42nd annual conference of the Municipal Finance Officers
Association, which report was read and filed.
