" introduced by Councilman Myers,:_s.ec.onded by Councilman `M rogue, entitled, V. 231 'al . ."Resolution. authorizing payment ,of $3,600.00 to Healy Tibbits Construction Company on Bridge St. Bridge Contract." ;adopted by 7 affirmative votes. .:``";Mosquito Abatement; -Adelegation representing the Sonoma. Valley Mosquito Abatement District., headed by Supervisor Lyttle, addressed the Council,'asking permission to annex the City of Petaluma to their , Mosquito Abatement District. They stated that the mosquitos which breed in the salt Marsh s. in and adjacent to Petaluma are particularly obnoxious - and care blown by the prevailing winds as far south as San Jose; that Petaluma as well as the neighboring district would benefit greatly;if the breeding areas in the Petaluma marshes could be controjlled. District Attorney._McGoldrick re Sewed the legal procedure in connection with the proposed - annexation, stating that in order to circulate a petition in the incorporated area of Petaluma- said City must.grant permission so to do. and 'a copy of said 5 resolution be attached to the petition. The question of a district tax rate was discussed;, some "of the , members of "the Council being 'of the opinion that the matter was a County -wide problem rather than "that of the City of Petaluma.
