Clark St. Develonmento r. o c aoz' �hs`_�Charles T:Iarshall submitted a preliminary plan and report on the development of Clark St. extension. He said rights of tray are to be secured for a 40 foot width street and that plans include an easement over private property to provide a road- way to the river for use of the fire department. It was suggested that a new water main and hydrant be installers instead of the proposed easement. Councilman Gonzalez pointed out that Clark St. is a public street an d that there is a public sewer on said street. He also called attention to the existence of a spur from the railroad and that when cars are unloading on said spur it creates a very perilous condition. Councilman Lrroim stated that if the street does go through the railroad could move the spur track to another location. The City ,Attorney was instructed to proceed vrith securing title reports on property to be acquired. Plans considered are for a one story building; on the site of the ►lashin, ton Cxramr;m School. Councilman 6hoernal,er expressed the opinion that in view of the present national e..mergency he believed the Council would be criticised for proceeding; with the City Ball. He suggested, however. that consideration be given to the re-decorating and improving of the present Council Chamber facilities, suggesting better lighting, better Press accommodations, etc. The matter was referred to the City ".?anager for consideration and estimates of cost.
