M Fire Sub -- Station T e Cry 11 aver reported on the possibility of converting the grandstand at Kenilworth Park into a fire sub — station which would cost a great deal less than the construction of a new build. Iie stated that the Board of Directors of the 4th Dist. Agricultural Assc. had given their approval but that it is still necessary to obtain official approval frog the Pairs and expositions Division of the State Dept. of Finance. Hie also stated that the Board of Fire Underwriters had an 'on the spot' investigation of our fire fighting facilities and proposals and are writing us an official analysis of their findings and proposals. That, if any of the present meters were taken out they could not be practical for installation in a parking lot. 2. Thzz.t, we should procure parking lot meters needed while they are still available. 3. That, there will always be a fringe area of meters that will not produce an averac a receipt regardless of the,? number of meters that might be installed. - 4. That, a canvas was made of a fete of the business houses and property omers concerned and it tras the wish of all interviewed that the meters in question be allowed to remain in place. The matter was taken under further consideration* Budget Recommendations counctin a goemacer Filled attention to the fact that it will soon be time to consider items for the 195152 budget and that he felt provisions should be made for: better lighting of some of the parks; better lighting for the 1 1.16- -fear Ball Diamond; installa- tion of a better hard --ball Diamond; and removal of the high croims from some of the streets. He also called attention to the poor condition of the streets in Madison Square which should have immediate attention.
