READING OF THE J OURNAL: The minutes' of the last regular meeting of April 6th were read and approved as recorded. REPORTS OF OFFICERS: •p nion,of CIt-y Attorney Karl Brooks stating that the moneys allocated to the city for. use on ma jbr city streets can also, b.e used for work on State Highways withi the ci ty; including the: work of wid'ening' Main Street, read and filed. A similar opinion from the. Division of Highways was .read and placed on file. REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES: The Finance Committee submitted it's report, whereupon Resolution #4485 C.S. introduced by Councilman Wo.odson, seconded by Councilman Gervasoni, direct- ing the Auditor to draw warrants (Nos. 2358, to 2460 inclusive) against the various city funds, in payment of claims allowed and approved by the Finance Committee, adopted by 6 affirmative votes, l absentee. PETITIONS AND COtlMUNICATIONS: nvitation rom the Petaluma Chamber of 'Gommerce to attend a meeting of the of Directors of the Redwood Empire As =sociation on April 24th, read and filed, and .the Clerk directed to notify the Secy. of the chamber of Commerce of the attendance of a representation from the City 'Council. NEW BUSINESS Ciaims filed by' Martha C. Kenne and Fury E•. Conway for taxes' erroneously assessed and paid upon certain property for- the fiscal years 1933 -34 and 1,934 -35, were read and referred, to the City Attorney. Mayor McFadden recommended that 'the Council consider the adviseabil-it.y of adopting an ordinance providing for the licensing of advertising by means of broadcasting or loudspeaking from vehicles' and that such ordinance also regulate the volume of sound.-.: It was the consensus of opinion that this should be done and the matter was referred to the 'Ci.ty Attorney_. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Resolution #4486 C.S., int`roduc:ed by Councilman Woodson, seconded by Councilman Penry, being Resolution in Memory of 'the late Robert Stewart Adams, was read, ordered file in the archives of the city, and a copy thereof or.d delivered to the widow and family of the late Robert Stewart Adams, u:nanirriously adopted.
