PETITIONS AND COPT114UNICATIONS: Letter from A. _ V`L. 'Baker offering to purchase property on Fourth Sti now owned by the City of Petaluma - read,..filed, and after discussion by the Council the Clerk was directed to notify Hr. Baker that the property is not for sale at the pre.sen.t time. Notice of meeting of the North Bay Division., of "the League, of California Munic palities at Napa on May 23't-d, read filed. Communication from Harry N. Jenks, Consulting Sanitary Engineer, inviting the members: of the City Council and the City Attorney to inspect the.new sewage disposal plants at Burlingame and San Mateo on one day during the last week of blay, read and filed. Some.. of the >` members being unable to accept the invitation at this time., the Clerk was directed to so notify Mfr. Jenks. Letter from the Petaluma'Chamber of Commerce, advising that the Board of Directors had gone on record favoring. a ]•ease: of Kenilworth Park from the City of Petaluma to the Directors of the Sonoma -TWarin Agricultural Fair District, read and filed.. Letter from the'Pacific Gas & Electric Co. stating that the work of eliminating the electric poles and facilities from North Main..Street is progressing rapidly and will soon be completed:, read and filed;. Offer from Don C. S. City Attorney Brooks reported service on the City of the Complaint in the action of the Pa- cif i:c Tel. & Tel. Co. against taxes paid to the City by them under protest.. Attorney Brooks stated that the action is quite in it.s nature and that-it will be sometime - before any answer is' filed and that, it is probable that the League of California Municipaliti;es will be interested in the case. Resolution x{4491 C.S. introduced by Councilman Woodson, seconded by Councilman Gervasoni, accepting the grant of the McNear Company, of the right to use for the purpose of dumping; material dredged from Petaluma Creek in connection with the project for widening and deepening said river about to be undertaken by the United States Government, the lands of the McNear Company lying along the main line right -of -.way of the Northwestern Pacific R. R. Co. and the Petaluma River, East of the T- JcNear Canal, .said grant being upon the condition that the McNear Company shall have the right to designate the specific locations upon said lands where the materials shall be di,schar'ged; adopted. by 7 affirmative votes. UNFI °NISHED BUS INESS: Broadcasting Ordinance: Councilmen. Gervasoni, Dyers,. and Penry, were appointed a special committee to assist the City Attorney in preparing a broadcasting ordinance.. Aa Ad N,avis,•representing a compressed steel corporation,, addreissed the council, offering to purchaseL the tin.-and scrap iron at the City Dumps,. for a ,prise .of $.25• per ton. The matter was referred to the Garbage Comm:fttee. A group of property owners in Linda Vista Subdivision, headed by Mr. Don Keller .address,ed- the Council asking the assistance of the City in the improvement of the streets in said tract, ,possibly by means of a PWA project. The matter was' r•e;ferred to the Street Committee, City Engineer and City Attorney. Parallel Parking on Washington St., Resolution. #4496.C.$.. introduced by Councilman Penry, seconded by Councilman Wood.soh, providing for parallel parking on both sides of Washington St,, from the Bridge acres Petaluma River to the east side .of Howard: Street., adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
