Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma :called
to order by Acting 'Mayor Jasper Woodson, former Mayor Sandy McFadden
having having passed away May 28, 1936.
ROLL CALL.:
`-resent: Councilmen Dess, Gervasoni, ingerson,, Myers; Penry,
and Woodson.
READING OF THE JOURNAL:
The minutes of the last regula=r meeting of May 1'8th and the
special meeting of May 27th were read and approved as recorded.
REPORTS OF OFFICi'RS:
The month y rreports o'f the Auditor, Trea=surer, Poundman,,
Wharfi -nger, and Police Judge, were read and filed..
Claim of Farrell Bros. against the City of Pet-aluma in the
amount of $615.87 was read and referred to the City Attorney.
REPORTS OF STANDING C%HdITTEES :
The F Commit ee submitted its*report, whereupon
Resolution #14498 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Deiss, seconded by Coun=cilman Gervasoni, direct
ing the Auditor to draw warrants (Nos:. 2735 to 2873 inclusiv against
the various City Funds in payment of claims allowed and approved by.
the Finance Committee, adopted by 6 affirmative votes.
PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS:

inviting the City Council to partidipate in the parade which will
take place on Sunday, June 14th at 2 P.M. read filed and accepted.
NEW BUSINESS:
Appointment of Jasper S. Woodson as Mayor.
Acting Mayor Woodson spoke of the death o`f former Mayor
Sandy McFadden and of the great loss thus sustained by the City of.
Petaluma.
It being necea°sary at this time to fill the office of Mayor,.

was proposed by Councilman Gervasoni', seconded.by Councilman Myers,
appointing. Jasper S. Woodson, ; Ma = yor of the City of Petaluma for the
unexpired term of Sandy McFadden, f =ormer Mayor, and adopted unanimously.
Mayor Woods_ on was sworn in. by the Clerk and expressed his
appreciatio=n of'the honor bestowed upon hi -m and his desire to fill the
,office to the best of his. ability.

- At.ction- Sale - Metals:
Resolution' #4502 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Pffyers, seconded by Councilman Penry,
directing the City Clerk to cause that certain Notice of Public
Auction of metals located on`the Petaluma Nh nicipal Garbage Dump,
to, be held the 8th day of June, 193 °6, at the hour of. 7 o'clock P.N.T.
to be published in the Petaluma 'Argus -C.our er for at least 5 days
prior to the date of said auction, adopted, by 6 affirmative votes.
The Committee appointed: to draft .a broadcasting ordinance
was granted further time until the next regular meeting.
- City Engineer Gonzalez was directed to prepare estimates
of quantity for materials to be used in the extension of the widening
of Third Street.
