Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called
to order by mayor Woodson.

introduced by Councilman Deis;s seconded by Councilman - Gervas,on-i,
directing the Auditor and Treasurer to transfer the sum of 188.90 from the
Street Fund to the General Fund.; the zum of $140.47 from the Police Fund
to the General Fund;. the sum of $38.06; from the Fire Fund to the General
Fund; the sum of $39.38 from the 'Park Fund to the General Fund; and
the sum; of - $40 :;47 from the Special Gas Tax Street Impv. Fund to the
General Fund, for gasoline used during the period from May 23rd to
etober 4th, 1936,,, and. paid for from the General Fund:, adopted by
6' affirmative votes,,, 1 :absentee.
Councilman Penny pointed out that rubbish iAs being thrown
in Edwards Creek and matter was referred to the Superintendent
of Streets for investigation with the recommendation that signs 'b;e
erected,warning people against. such practice.
UNFINISHED 8USINESS:
Water rate reduction:
The matter of proceeding with the investigation of the water
rates was discussed and it was the consensus of opinion that competent
engineers be consulted to determine the approximate cost of , a thorough
survey of the properties of the California, 'Water Service Company witb .
a view to_ pires.ent:ing a case to the 'Railroad Commis=sion for a, reduction
of rates
The City Engineer reported-on the Thompson Creek tube project
and Mayor - Woodson - stated that he would interview Mr. Galbraith of the
WPA
and endeavor to secure another crew of workers in order "th:at the
pra4ject may be speeded up. The City Engineer further reported that,
plans for the continuation of th.e tube to 5th Street were ready for
review by Mr.. Galbraith,.

Business.Licenses;
.Councilman Gervasoni, Chairman of the Finance Committee
reported that the draft of an, ordinance pertaining to businesas
licenses had been prepar.ed by *the City Attorney a ^s, a result , of
numerous meetings of the Committee and members of the city Council
or'ixthe matter, and 'sugge'sted that the draft of the ordihanice be°
reviewed at this time. "City Attorney Brooks read the draft of
the ordinance which was discizs'sed and laird on the table
