ROLL 'CALL Present: Councilmen Deiss, Ingerson,, Myers, Penry, Peters, and Mayor Woodson. Absent: Councilman Gervasoni. READING OF THE JOURNAL The minutes of the last regular meeting of November 2nd were read and approved -as recorded. REPORTS. OF OFFICERS: The monthly report of the Librarian was :read and filed. Specifications for a. used Jaeger Concrete Mixer,' or its equal, was submitted by the City Engineer, read,, and filed. REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES: The rinance Coimn_ ttee "subm!tted its report, whereupon Resolution #4565 introduced by Councilman Myers, seconded by Councilman Deiss, directing the Auditor to draw warrants ( -Nos .. 1172 to 129`3 inclusive) against the various City'Funds in payment; of claims-allowed and approved'by the " Finance Committee, adopted by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee. PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS:. Request from the - Department of Public Works for two copies of a map of the C'lty .of Petaluma, read, filed,-and referred to the City Engineer. Letter- from Attorney M. Perelli- Minetti re Cavanagh judgment was read., filed,- and :referred to the City Attorney for reply. - Gommunication from Harry N. Jenks., Consulting Sanitary Engineer, offering make a report on the propert. es of the California Water Service Company for the sure of $150..00 per month, plus traveling expenses, read and filed.. INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCES';, Business License, Or trance: The matter of a general business license ordinance was. again discussed, int.eres °ted: parties asking questions and being informed as to the content=s of the ordinance, whereupon Ordinance No. 460: C'. S . introduced by C ounc' loran Myers, seconded by Councilman, Det s., providing for licensing certain businesses, professions, trades callings and occupations in the City of Petaluma, fixing the rats of license tax upon the same and providing for the collection of said license tax and a punishment for carrying on, transacting or conducting any such businesses, professions, trades., callings or occupations without a license,, was read, approved by the City Attorney, and Res oluti.bn - #4567 C.S., introduced by Cow ici,lman Deiss, seconded by Councilman Myers, directing that said ordinance, he published once in full in the Petaluma Argus- Courier the official newspaper of the City of Petaluma, within sufficient time to permit the adoption thereof at the adjourned regular meeting of the Council on November 25, 1936, adopted by 6 affirmative . v : otes, 1 absentee. Ordinance No. 461 C.S. introduced by Councilman Penry, seconded by Councilman Ingerson, providing for the ' purchase of a used Jaeger concrete mixer, or its equal., for the City of Petaluma, at a price not to exceed $750,00 was read, approved by the City Attorney, and Resolution ,#45.68 C.S. introduced by 'Councilman Penry, seconded by Councilman Ingerson, directing that said ord`Lnanc,e be posted by the City Clerk in the manner required by the Charter of this within sufficient time 'to permit the adoption thereof at the adjourned regular .meeting of the Council on November 25, 1936, and further directing .the, Clerk to advertises for sealed proposals for sairi mixer, adopted' by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee. NEW BUSINESS Donation of $50.00 to Petaluma Minstrels.: Resolution4569 C.S. introduced by Councilman Myers, seconded by Councilman Deiss, appropriating the sum, of $50.00 for the . uae of the Petaluma Minstrels and directing the Ci "ty'Auditor to draw a warrant in said °sum and deliver the same to said Maj s Petaluma,Minstrels char grog the same against:. the ,Entertainment and Promoti.on Fund authorized by Sec. 65 of Article 3 of the Cit Charter, adopted by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee. UNFINISHED BUSINESS M atter of nvestgaton of water rates :: Mayor Woodson reported having contacted, at the suggestion of Councilman Gervasoni, the appraisal .firm.of S'emsen and Mc Laren, who stated over the telephone that they would undertake #-n appraisal of the ;properties of the California 'Wat.er Service Company for a sum , of` b etween, $750. and $100,0. The matter. of this ,investigation. was laid on the table until the next meeting of the Council. City Engineer Gonzalez reported on the progra&s being made on the Thompson Creek drainage tube, •and requested that more 'carpenIters be furnished the project in order to speed up the work.
