REPORTS OF O FFICERS: he C err reported the filing of Affidavit of Publication of Ordinance No. 467 C.S., being the Election Proclamation. The monthly reports of the Building ins.;pector, and -the City Librarian, wore read and filed. The Auditor submitted a list of totaling $190.9 which'licenses were referred to the City Attorney for investigation and action. REPORTS OF SS'A,NDING COMMITTEES:. The Finance Committee submi' ted its report, .whereupon - Resolution #'45:92 C.S. introduced bir Councilman Myers, seconded by Councilman Peters, directing the Auditor :to draw warrants ( #1910 to 2.016 inclusive) against the various City Funds, in payment of claims allowed and approved by the Finance Committee, adopted by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee. City of Petaluma, read and filed. The matter was later di cussed :and it was the consensus of opinion that the appraisal does not need revising at .the .present time. Communication from the Compressed Steel Corporation, asking for an ex tension of time of performance .of that certain agreement dated June 22nd,1936, read and filed, and Resolution #4593 C.S,., introduced by Councilman Peters, :seconded,by Councilman Penry, granting said request,' adopted by 6 affirmative v-ot.es, 1 absentee. Deed from ,G.F.McNear of lot for fire station: Communication from. G. P. McNear Co. e n closing a deed to the Fire Department of the City of Petaluma, covering 1Q0 x 150 feet at the corner of D and Second Streets:, read and filed,. and Resolution #4594 C.S. introduced by Councilman Penry, seconded by Councilman Peters, accepting said, deed, adopted by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee. Councilman Peters suggested that a vote of thanks be extended Mr. McNear. ! �f or this parcel of .land.. Mayor Woodson spoke of the generosity of Mr. McNear in deeding this land to the City and also recalled the gift by Mr.,McNear some years ago of what,is no%,v known. as McNear Park and the sum of $20,000. to maintain . the same The Cou.nc:il expressed its gratitude to Mr. McNear and the Clerk was directed to express to Iiir. ,McNear the appreciation of the Council. JENKS, as its engineer to make preliminary surveys, investigations and reports, covering the construction, maintenance, and operation of a system of sewage disposal and treatment for the City of Petaluma, ine'luding'the'preparation and compilation of all reports, sketches, drawings, estimates of cost and other matters necessary or required in connection with or to accompany an application to the Federal Public Works Administration for a donation or grant or other financial aid for said work. Appropriating the sum of " $,&5Q. to be paid unto said 72 HARRY N. JEITKS upon the completion of the work,required to b'e done by him under this ordinance, came up regularly, and 'was adopted by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee.. Election-Proclamation: 'Ordi nance No. 467 C.S. -introduced by Councilman Penry, seconded by Councilman Peters, providing for the holding of a special municipal election in said city .for the purpos& of submitting to the qualified electors of said city the propositions of amending the following provisi-ons and port-ions of the Charter of said City,. toa,wit Section 67 of Article 3; Zecti,on 1 of Article 5.; Section 13 of Article &.; Section 1 of Article 7; Section 15d of Article 7; Section-3 of Article 10; Section 5 of Article ' 12� 1, ,came up regularly and was adopted by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee. NEW BUSINESS: 'Transfer of Funds: Resolution #4595 C.:S. introduced by Councilman Myers,: seconded by Councilman GerVasoni directing the Auditor and Treasurer to"transfer the sum of 13 4 from the Park Fund to the, General Fund; the sum of from the Police Fund to the General Fund; the sum of $34 from om the Fire Fund to the General Fund,;. and the sum of $57.64 from the Street Fund to the General Fund for gasoline used during the period from October 1 193,6 to January 26, 1937, and. paid 11 f - or from the General Fund.; ddopted by 6 affirmative votes 1 absentee., Re - reinvestment of securities: Mayor INOodaon suggested that should the sewage bonds � carry the matt ' er should bei investigated of the advirs 6f some of the securities of the Mcgear Park and Wickersham Park Funds :in order to take advantage of the increased value of tie bonds, and reinvest the money in. Councilman Fenry reported that the Street Department has taken step's to install a larger drain on the corner Of Fair & Bas,sr,e ett Streets, and suggested th-�t two corrugated -iron culverts 9 be installed at the intersection. of 7th and G Street,s.- - Both - matters were left under the supervi,sion of the Street Committee. Mayor Woodson - reported that Mr.Gillespie,,, sta Health Officer, will be present at the next meeting_ .when. matters pertaining- to -the water situati.on will be discussed. Councilman Pefiry again brou ,up the,matter improving the block on,3rd Street, between d D and the Finance Committee_ was asked to look into the amount of money which will bedU6 from the;Sta.te,Highway Gasoline Fund's for use on this pr oje9t.
