R egular. sleeting of the Council of the. City of Petaluma called to
order b.y Mayor Woodson.

READING OF THE JOURNAL:
The mi-nutes of the last regular meeting of April ,5th, the special
me.et:ing of April 9th, and the adjourned meeting of April 12th, were
read and approved as recorded.
REPORTS, OF OFFICERS:
The report of t ,e Librarian for the month of March was read and filed..
REPORTS OF ,STANDI.NG GOMMI TTEES
The Finance Committee submitted its report, whereupon
Resolution. 44,614 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Gervasoni, seconded by Councilman Myers, direct-
ing the Auditor to draw'warrants (Nos. 239.8 to 2475 inclusive) against
the various city funds in payment of claims allowed and approved by the
Finance Committee, adopted by 7 affirmative votes.

Re - Sewage.Disposal Project:
, The preliminary design estimates of 'cost, and engineering data
incorporated in the c ty FWA.application for a Federal grant re the
proposed sewage disposal project as submitted by Harry N. Jenks,
consulting sanitary engineer, were reported by the Clerk as filed on
April 16 1,937, and communication from Mr. Jenks, stating his
conclusions relating to said project.,.was read and filed.
Proposal from Harry N. Jenks - setting forth his fees for engineering
se- rvices for the construction of the sewage disposal system, read, filed_
and referred to the City Attorney for review, and for the preparation
of a contract between the City of Petaluma and Mr. Jenks.
ADOPTION OF O RDINANCE S:
Or nance No.. 469 G.S. introduced by Councilman Penry, seconded by
Councilman Gervasoni, entitl.ed,, " An ordinance of the City of Petal
California, ordering the submission,. atan election ordered to be held.
on June 8, 1937, ;of the following propositions: Proposition No. 1. The
incurrence of a bonded indebtedness in the sum of Two Hundred Twenty -Five
Thousand Dollars ($225,000.00) for the purpose and object of acquiring,
constructing and completing a sewer and sewage disposal system, including
pipes, di_sposa-1 plant, pumps, pumping plant, machinery, equipment, land,
easements, and'other works and appliances necessary or convenient to
acquire, construct and complete a sewage disposal system for the City of
Petaluma; Proposition No..2. The incurrence of a bonded indebtedness
in the sum of Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000.00) for the purpose and
object of acquiring, constructing and completing a fire station., building
or house on the prop`ert'y owned by said city at the corner of "D" and
"Second" Strefltz, Petaluma, California; Proposition No. 3. The incurrence.
.of a bonded indebtedness'in the sum.of- Eighteen Thousand Dollars
($18,000.00) for the purpose and object of acquiring the following fire
Apparatus, to-wit: Two fire pumping engines and their accessories.
Ordering the consolidation of said election with the general municipal
election to'be' hold on said 8th day of June, 1937, according to the
provisions of Ordinance 466 C.S. " came up regularly, and was adopted by
the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Deiss, Gervasoni, Ingerson, Myers,
Penry, Peters, and Mayor Woodson. Noes: None. Absent: None,
NEW BUSINESS:
Dr. L. J'. Snow addressed the Council re the celebration of the 150th .
anniversary of the Constitution of the United States, asking that the
C•,ouncil give the occasion its official recognition and appoint a
representative from the Council to,serve on a committee for plans for the
suitable observation of the event. Mayor Woodson appointed Councilman

UNFINISHED BUSINESS.;
Re - lease 'Ff Factory:
,-A diacussi.on was had regarding the extension of the lease with
W. jacquith on the, old shoe factory building, Councilman - Deisa
reporting that the committee had investi ' gated the building and found
it -badly need of repairs. Councilman In-ger,s,bh reported that
it. would cost approximately 0250 for labor and materials als to repair
the broken windows. The matter was left in the hands of the:
'Buildings and Grounds Committee for further investigation and-
report back.
Re - emergency fund for'Petal=a General Hospitals'
The matter of the creation Of an emergency indigent fund for
the Petaluma General Hospital was again discusted,, Mayor Woodson
reporting that in a talk recently with Dr. Bogle of the County
Hospital he had learned.that hone of the private hospitals:in
any city in the, county were reimbursed by Sonoma Cou . nty for
, emergency indigent.-cas'es.
It was decided to defer action pending an int.erview with Mr.
Mill-meis.ter proprietor: the Petaluma General Hospital and the
Clerk was. directed to communicate with his representative and
requelst that he meet with the Goun
cil at its next regular meeting
to further discuss the matter.
