Special of the Council of the. City of ..Petaluma called to
order by Mayor Woodson.

Absent: Councilmen Gervasoni and Ingerson.-

to the holding; of said meeting.
Permit tc Petaluma Central Labor Council to parade on Labor Day:
Application from the Petaluma Central Labor Council to parade on
Labor Day was received, whereupon
Resolution #4666 C . S,.
introduced by Councilman Myers, seconded by Councilman Deiss, granting
the Petaluma Central Labor Council permission' to. parade along the streets
of the City of Petaluma on Labor Day, Monday, September 6th, 1937,
adopted by 5 affirmative votes, 2 absentees.
Approval of Memoranda of Agreement re widening of Third St
Memoranda of Agreement for expenditu4rex of 1/4 ". cent gas tax
on State Highways and ,for expenditure, of 1/4 cent gas" "tax on Streets
of Major Importance were submitted and reviewed, whereupon
_Resolut #46`67 C.S. and Resolution:4668 C.S..
introduced by Councilman Penry, seconded by Councilman Deiss, approving
saidd agreiements and directing the Mayor and City Clerk to sign-the same
on behalf 'of the City of Pe °taluma, adopted by 5 affirmative votes, 2
absenteeas.
Providing for improvement of Third Street:
Ordinance No. 478 C'.S. introduced by Councilman Penry,'s'econded by
Councilman Deiss, entit'led,, " An Ordinance of the City of Petaluma provid-
ing for the improvement of Third Street " by widening the same from the
intersection thereof with the east line of "C" Street toy the East boundary
of the City of Petaluma ", approving and adopting the plans and specification;
for said improvement prepared by the City Engineer; providing for said
work to be done under the supervision of the City Engineer and by .labor
employed by said city;. directing the Clerk and Auditor to keep records
of all 'expenditures for said improvement , wo -rk,, and to secure reimbursement
therefor out of this" .city's share of the 1/4 cent gas tax on State Highways
and the l/4 cent gas tax on Streets of Major Importance," was read,
approved by the City Attorney, and
Resolution #4669 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Penry, &e ,on:ded by Councilman Deiss,-directing
that ",said ordinance be posted by the City Clerk in the manner required by
the Charter of this city within. sufficient time to permit the adoption .
thereof at the regular meeting of the City Council on the 7th day of
Septemb.er,. 1957; and further directing the City Clerk to advertise for
sealed proposals for the materials required in the improvement work
referred to in said Ordinance No 478 C °.S., adopted by 5 affirmative votes,

Consulting Engineer Harry N.. Jenks submitted preliminary plans and
specifications for the sewer pro je'ctr for review by the City Council,
stating that he expects to have. the final plaxr's. and specifications ready
for adoption by the Council at its next regular meeting.
