the special meeting of February 4th were read and approved as recorded.

Painting tr.gff.ic line though 3rd & Main Sts:
The matter of ,painting a. double traffic line through the
center. of 3rd and Main Street's was ref erred. to the Street Committee
for investigation and :report back.
City Engineer Gonzalez reported on the eight railroad
eros;sings in this City, stating that five of them are. in very poor
condition. The matter was refprred to the City Attorney, he. to
communicate with the•Northwe.st.ern Pacific and the Petaluma and Santa
Ras'a.Railway Co. and request that they put all crossings in good
condition.
Re'- foundation' for new treatment plant:
Mayor Woodson reported . having visited the site of the
new - treatment plant..,dri comPdny, with the Street C;6mmit_t6e, Mr. Jenks,
Mr. Brainerd,and City Officials, in order- to -inspect the ground
foundation for the plant. On account of the heavy structureis . to,
be erected it Was determined that the 'present base was. not sqIfficiently
sound and it was agreed to have plans and specifications drawn for
the driving of a sufficient number of piles to adequately support
the buildings that are to be erected "thereon, Mr Jenks was
*instructed to proceed with plans and specifications for said
fo undation.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
CounddlmFn Penry, Chairman of the Street Gomm 1ttbe-
reported 'that the catch basin requested at Western Avenue and N.
Fa Street had been considered and will be incorporated in, the
plans and specifications for Unit "C". of the S'ewbLge: System and will
be constructed at the time the work is done on that unit.
The matt of the em, ployment of a rodent exterminator
to be• employed solely by the Cit'y,of Petaluma was discussed by the
Mayo and Council and repr6sentatives of local buslnes°s 'houses and
in the 'absence - of, Dr. Rundall, referred to the Board of Health.
City Engineer 'Gonzalez submitted a tentative plan for
the extension. of Copeland Street to Bridge' Street in order' to divert
heavy traffic from the businaas district.
Suspension of Judge.Mardi:s:
In connection , with the suspension of Prank Mardis,., Pblice
Judge,,-Mayor Woodson stated that it had been his unpleasant duty
to suspend P . olice Judge Frank E. Mardis becau I , of .the 'report from
the. last audit of his 'books, stating that he ''had no other alternative,
as the Charter places' that, rasponsibililty on the Mayor's offic"e and
that in order to clarify the situation and to give 'Judge Mardis an
opportunity to vindicate himself, he would request that
the City
Attorney now take the matter up with the Diz'trict Attorney or Grand
Jury for their investigation,
