Re - new PWA projects (Pavilion for Kenilworth Park) Ma reported having received telegrams from K. A. Godwin, Riegional :Director of the PWA, requesting that applications for future PWA grants be filed immediately. Mayor Woodson stated that in line with this ,application had been filed for a PWA grant to assist in the-financing of the improvement _ of Wi.,cker.sham Park. He . also stated a preliminary architectts sketch had been made of a proposed pavilion to be erected at Kenilworth Park. He stated that a community building of this type was greatly needed and could be used for agricultural displays, social gatherings,.dancing, eta. - asked that the Coucil consider such a building as a project.and that the Finance Committee investigate as to whether or no:t there will be sufficient city funds to take care of the cityls share of such a project. Mayor Woodson reported that the new'Fire Station will,be .about July lst,, 1938 'and that plans for the dedication thereof were being made by the Committee, and that Saturday, July 23rd, at '2 P.M. had'been set as the tentative date for the dedication ceremony-' C and City . Engineer Gonzalez was directed to proceed at once with the plans s pec fications for altdrnate routes fo.r the opening of Copeland Street The.iftatter of needed repairs to the ball ground diamond at Kenilworth Park wasi brought up by Councilman Ingerson and referred to the Superintend ent _of Streets. City,Attorney Brooks reported that he and Mayor Woodson had met with Mr. McKall of the Railroad Commission with reference to water rates and that a further meeting •i s to be had with Mr. McKall, members of the City Council, Mr. Jenks and a representative of the California Water Service Company. Mayor Woodson reported on the informal meeting held on June 9th with propert.y.owners on Mt. View Avenue relative to the storm sewer K 6 in that section.
