3 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID OF HANFORD COMPANY FOR PLANTING AND
4 IRRIGATION FOR OAKHILL PARK-PHASE II

6 WHEREAS, bids have heretofore been invited in accordance with the law for the
7 performance of certain work for the City of Petaluma generally described as planting and
S irrigation for Oakhill Park-Phase II; and

IO WHEREAS, bids were received, opened, and read in accordance with law and the
t 1 Director of Parks and Recreation has made his report thereon, a copy of which is attached hereto
12 and by reference incorporated herein; and

14 WHEREAS, the Cotmcil has thoroughly considered said report of the Director of Parks
15 and Recreation and as a result has concluded that the bid of Hanford Company, 23195 Maffei
16 Road, Sonoma, CA 95476 was the only responsible bid received; and

I8 WHEREAS, the Council has thoroughly considered said report of the Director of Parks
19 and Recreation and as a result has concluded that the bid of Handford Company on the basis of
20 the solicitation for performance in accordance with t_he aforesaid solicitation and bid submitted,
21 be and the same is hereby approved and accepted; and
22
23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
24 Petaluma, all prerequisite findings and determinations having been made in accordance with law,
25 that the bid of said Hanford Company computed to total $79.033 on the basis of the solicitation
26 for performance in accordance with the aforesaid solicitation and bid submitted, be and the same
27 is hereby approved and accepted; and

29 IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that, the City Council approves a contingency fund
30 equal to $7,903.30 (10 percentof the contract amount) for administrative change orders; and

2 IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Petaluma enter into a contract with the
3 said successful bidder for performance as herein indicated for the amount of said bid and for
4 performance in accordance with plans and specifications heretofore prepared, approved, and on
5 file in the office of the Director of Parks and Recreation, and the .City Manager be and is hereby
6 authorized and directed to execute such contract, and the City Director of Finance is hereby
7 authorized to pay all proper claims for performance of said contract out of Account Number 209-
8 400-9726-7102.
