called to order by Mayor Woodson-.
ROLL CALL:
Pre'sent: Councilmen Gervasoni, Ingerson, Myers, Peenry, Peters,
and Mayor Woodson.
Absent: Councilman : Deiss .
READING OF THE JOURNAL:

special meeting of August 18th, the ad.jburned meetings of August 29th
and September 2nd, and the regular meeting of September 6th were read

REP QRTS OF OFFICERS:
The ,rk reported the filing of Affidavits of Publication
of Ordinance No. 496 C.S. and of Notice of Public Work re abandonment of
alley.
The monthly reports of the City Wharfinger, Chief of Police,
Poundinan, Police Judge,, Auditor,, Treasurer, and Garbage Inspector, were
read and filed.
Progress report on Projec =ts A. B.. C. and D. of the Sewage
System submitted. by H. K. Brainerd., was read and filed'.
ADOPTION ORDZNANCES:
OrUinance No. 496 C.S. introduced by Penry, seconded
by Councilman Peters, entitled, "An Ordinance of the City of Petaluma
providing,for and authorizing certain changes in Unit "A" of, the Municipal
Sewage Disposal Pro ject, .for :a net additional cost of $1,792.01; accepting .
the agreement of Oakland Sewer Construction C.o., the Contractor for said
Unit "A ",, for the changes in said work for the said net additional sum
of $1..792.01; directing. the City Attorney to submit said changes to the
Federal Emergency Administration of Public 'Works for approval and
inclusion in the• grant for the project; providing for the pa;�tnent of all
costs of said changes out.of the 1.937 Sewer Construction Fund," came up
regularly and was adopted by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee.

Opening of bids - Wickersham Park Pro
This being the time set for the opening of bids for the
Wickersham Park Development Project, the Clerk reported having received
two bids' and pro- ceeded to open and read said bads a follows:

'The bid of W.. Singleton being the lowest bid, the Clerk read
the form of resolution accepting the "bid of and awarding the contract
of constructing Wickersham Park Development Project to W. Singleton, and
Resolution #49,01 C.S.
introduced by Councilma ` Penry, seconded by C`ouncilman Ingerson,
tentatively awarding the Contract for the construction of Wickersham Park
Dev opment, Project,, including the drilling of a well to an estimated
depth of 150 feet on the property known as Wickersham Park; to W.Singleton,
for the total sum 'of $13,955.00.; subJect to the approval of the Federal
Emergency Administration of Public Works, and approving the form of resol

Mayor Woodson reported having, received a letter from
The McNear-Company regarding the roadway
y leading into the &eWage.
Treatment Plant, inwhich they stated that they did not care l to,
give the City a righ t-ot-way until the present 30 roadway is
put back in good ape ,and the fence. replaced,.. Mayor, Woodson
stated that the Oaklar 0 1 1
4 Sewer Construction Co. had agreed t''
rep jet. the trench on Wednesday' to, put on a good covering of rock,
and to put up a substantial fence. The Street 'Committee was
asked to see that hose for re-jetin 9 ' the trench was hand

Mayor Woodson stated that a supply of chlorine fore
thef.Sewage Treatment Plant was needed immediately and asked
that' the Street Committee order the same at once,
City-Attorney Karl Brooks;reported that a suit had
been filed against the City of Petaluma,the Superihtendent'6_t'
Streets, City Officials., all three 'Sewer Gontrazt6r,s, and th . e
'Fidelity and Casualty Company as their surety,, based up on an
alleged injury which.. occurred on Western Avenue and Upham Street,
the plaintiff alleging that he had been ilnjur6d by his 'head
striking against the top of the car when said car hit a depreiss
in th street.
Mr. Brooks further stated that the is adequately
insured by the Fidelity and Casualty Company and any damages
wbi-bh, mig be awarded Will have to be taken care o'
