Adjourned meeting ' of the- Counci of the City of Petaluma
called to order by Mayor Woodson.
ROLL CALL:

and Mayor Woodson.
Absent,: Councilman Myers
PETITIONS AND COMIVIUNICATIONS: Re e Shasta Ave, sewer connections:
eti ti.on sighed by .Robert Smith,, Harold L. Gray, Wayne
Winfrey, and Mrs. Fannie Berger, asking permission to connect their
respective sewers from their property on the north side of Shasta
Avenue with the s -ewer system of the, City of Petaluma, read and filed.
Later brought up under New' Bu Ines,s and referred to the
Street Committee to advi=se zald pr6perty owners that a new ordinance
is being drafted by the City Attorney and that the contemplated
charges for ' outside -sewer connections is $12.00 per year, payable in
advance, for each separate conne °eti.m.
In considering the problems of the territory just adjacent
to the City of Petaluma, Mayor - Woodson stated that it might be to the
advantage- of the property owners to annex to the City. He asked that
the F nance,Committe:e work out a schedule of comparative costs of
services within :the City and outside the City Limits.
Copeland St
The Clerk reported the filing by the City Engineer of tentative
plans for Copeland Street Extension and Copeland Street Bridge, and an
estimate of cost totaling $42,300.00 for said improvements.
Mayor Woodson stated that he would communicate with each
,property owner along the line of the Copeland Street #provement and
see if arrangements can, be made for. the financing of the sponsors
funds as a PWA project.
'S'treet sweeper
Councilman Penry reported that arrangements had. been made
with 'the representative of the Austin Patrol Street Sweeper to give
the.C'ity of Petaluma a demonstration of said sweeper on Monday,, September
19 1938 at one olclock. He stated that the members of the Council
in at the League conventi=on had seen this sweeper at 'Santa
Barbara and that the cost of same was ,about one -half the cost of- the
sweeper previously considered.

introduced by Councilman Deiss, seconded by C`ouncilman.Penry, granting
permission , to M.. G. Acorne to broadcast the football games at the
Petaluma High School for the coming sea: &on, adopted by 6 affirmative
votes, 1 absentee.
Councilman Myers entered the meeting at this time.
Mayor Woodson'reported that, he had appointed Councilman J. E.
Penry, Chairman, and Councilman Myers, Mr. Dolph Young, Mr. Halvor
Vogensen, Mr. Henry Soldati, and Mr. Stanley.Sdell, as a committee to
formulat . plans for the dedication of the Sewage. Disposal System.
The "matter of constructing necessary levees and spillways for
the dredging to be done soon was referred, to the Street C.ommtt :ee for
action.
