Regular meeting of the Council of. the:. City of Petaluma
called to order by Mayor Woodson.
ROLL CALL.
Present: Councilmen Deiss, Gervasorii, Ingerson, Myers,
Penry, Peters, and Mayor Woodson.
READING ;OF THE JOURNAL:
The minutes of the ,last regular meeting of ;September 19th
and the special meeting of September 27Th were read and approved as
recorded.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS:
s ma e of materials` and equipment necessary for the
construction of new curb and gutter, on ` "F "' Street,, between 3rd and
8th Streets, _was submitted by the City Engineer and filed.
The Clerk reported the filing of Affidavits of Publication
of Or. di'nanc e s N o;s . 498, , 499, and 500 C.S.
The monthly reports of the Poundman, Wharfinger, Police
Judge, Auditor, Treasurer, Chief of Police, were read and filed.
Report of H.. K. Brainerd, Inspector on the Sewage Disposal
Project, read and filed.
REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.:
The Finance Committee submitted its report, whereupon
Resolution x#4,920 C.S.
introduced by,GOuncilman Gervasoni, seconded by Councilman Myers,
directing the Auditor to draw warrants (Nos.. 672 to 1030 inclusive)
against the various City Funds in payment of claims allowed and
approved by the Finance Committee, adopted by 7 affirmative- votes.

City At- torney Karl Brooks reported•the filing of a claim
for ; $545.00 damages by Mrs. Pearl Smith on behalf of her minor daughter, .
for inlj.uries alleged to have been sustained in a. fall on Fair Street:..
The case has been referred to the Fidelity and Casualty Company of
New York,, the insurance company for the contractor.
City Attorney Brooks Also - reported that the suit of J.
Truman Reed has been referred to the Fidelity and Casualty Company of
New York

Diagonal Parking - Kentucky St. etc.

of Kentucky St; on the ,northerly of Mary Street, on Keller:

spaces on each side of Kentucky Street at its intersection With the

In connection with the parking of vehicles, the Street
Committee wars asked to investigate the matter of -diagonally parking
long 'trucks which protrude beyond the lines designated for parking
and bring back their recommendations'
Re - dredging:
Mayor Woodson reported that word had been received from
% the War Department that the dredger will be sent here about October 10th.
In this c the S 'treet Committee reported having made arrangements
with.Hein Bros. for the building of necessary levees and spillways at
a price of $370.00 with an extra charge of $100. for additional work
if neces The City nttorhey was asked to prepare proper agreements
with Hein Bros. for said work.
Re - damages to curbs and sidewalks by sewer "
ontractors:
Mr. Ray.Kyioch.addresaed the Council re;ported.that repairs
have not ydt been remade to his sidewalk on English Street which was
damaged 'by -the Sewer Contbactors . Mayo.r Woodson stated that the
contractors must replace streets and.sidewalks in as good condition
a >s they were before the sewer work was begun and asked that anyone
claiming damage.s to curbs and sidewalks to report the matter to the
City or Gray & Carpenter.
Mr.. Claude Adams called attention the condition of a
par.t'of Jefferson Street where he said c lay and adobe had been dumped
on the macadam in laying the sewer line, and. filling the trench. Mr.
Mark Hein, sub- contractor for the sewer contractors was present at
the meeting and agreed to scrape the street and repair damages.
Re. F St curbs & gutters:.
The Street Committee was authorized the file with the WPA
the pro3ect of replacing the curbs and gutters on F Street, between
3rd, & 8th.
Councilman Ing,erson called,attention to the dangerous
condition of a catchbasI n at Kent and Keller' Streets., which matter
was referred to the Street.0 "ommittee for immediate investigation.

was discussed and referred to the resident inspector.
