PETITIONS AND COMITNICATIONS Application from the Shell Oil Co. for permission to display it -s Christma "s Sound truck at the various schools during the month of December, read and :filed and Resolution 44933 C.S. introduced by Councilman Myers, seconded by Councilman Ingerson, granting said application, adopted by 7 affirmative votes. Communication from the Board of Fire Underwriters stating 'that they expect to start a survey on Oct..ober 31st of the fire defense system of Petaluma for the purpose of readjus ting fire insurance rates, and that said readjustment will date back to the original. application for said readjustment which was the latter part of July. . . Communication from the Commandant's 'Office extending an invitation to the citizens of Petaluma to.vi:sit the Navy Yard at Mare Island on Thursday,, October 27th, read and filed. 'Re -- picketing: Petition signed by mechanics employed in the :various garages of Petaluma asking the `City Council to anus - e 'the removal and further res -train the pickets placed by the A. F. of L. from. garages in said mechanics are employed., was read and later brought up under the head of New busine'ss., On motion by Councilman Deiss,, seconded by Councilman Penr.y, the petition was, ordered placed on file and no action taken by the Council. Motion carried and so ordered. . Donation of $50..00 to American Legion.: Resolution ##4935 C.S'* introduced by Councilman Gervason, seconded by Councilman Myers, directing the Au.diktor to draw.a warrant on the General Fund in favor of the 'American Legion Post ##28 in the sum of $50.00 as contribution and donation for Armistice Day Colebrati..on, adopted by 7 affirmative votes. Re Sewer'`Project: Letters from N. Jenks, regarding the acceptance of the various units of the Sewage System - read and filed. The acceptance of the various units of 'the Sewer Project were discussed by the City Council and it was decided that the - matter be postponed until Monday, October 3'lst. pending an inveatigation bT the Superintendd of Streets of claims filed by Property Owners re damaged streets, sidewalks and curbs The claim of A. Soda & Son for partial payment No.. 6 which claim included Item ##34 amounting to $1487.57 was discussed and referred to the City Attorn_ey," the payment of said $1487.57 being questioned by the Resident Engineer Inspector for the Public Works Administration. - ADJOURNMENT-: There being no further business to come before the meeting on motion regularly made and carried the meeting adjourned to Monday, October a.t 7:30 P.M.
