The Clerk reported the •filing by the City Engineer of plans
and. specifications for the improvement of "F" Street by widening
said street from 3rd to 4th, Street and replacing the curbs and gut aers
from 3rd: Street to 8th Street as shown on the plans

Teachers expressing their gratification over the succ °ess of the

Opinion of City Attorney re trimming of trees was presented
by Councilman Penry, read and, placed on file. 'The matter of
a- ssuming the cost of said tree trimming was .referred to the Street
Committee for investigation.
INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCES:
Ordinance No. 5 03 introduced by Councilman Penry,
seconded by Councilman Peters, entitled, "An Ordinance of the City
of Petaluma providing for the improvement, as a Federal Works
Progress Administration Project, of "F" Street between,Thi'rd
Street and Eighth Stmet`,, by removing, wooden curbing on each 'side
of said. street and constructing in place thereof concrete curbs
and gutters; also, widening said 'Y' Street between Fourth - S:t.reet
and Third Street ,a distance oy t -wo and said im f f eet o each side ;.

required in said improvement work, which said °Works Progreo.s

the sum of not to exceed 3,GOO.00 for the. use in the purchase of

directing the Clerk to publish said ordinance and to advertise for
'bids for furnishing of certain: materials and, supplies required
for the work to be done under said ordinance, adopted by 7 affirmative
votes. "
NEW 'BUSINESS'
Change Order— Unit "A" - re wage for Compressor Operator:
Resolution x#4956 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Penry, seconded by Councilman Peters,
approving and °adopting the rate and wage for Compre Operator
on Unit "A" of the Municipal Sewage Disposal Project, adopted. by
7 affirmative votes.
Re - Licensing of photographers
Attorney John Lounibos and 'Mr. R.. N. Wheldon addressed
the Council regarding the matter of licensing outside photographers,
stating that the present license fee of 050.00 per month does not
protect, local photographers .from_ tie fly -by -night outsiders who
come in with a group of solicitors .and in• a'few days take hundreds
of dollars of business out.of town. They urged that the license
fee be increased substantially.
City Attorney Brooks pointed, 'out the legal objections
to discriminatory license fees.
Mayor Woodson referred the matter to the City Attorney
and Finance Committee for study and recommendation.
Mr. Overton, Assistant Treasurer, stated that he had
now secured a list of securities suitable for the `investment of
City Funds -and suggested that a meeting be held this week with. the
members of the Park Commission and ,Chairman of the Finance Committee
on this matter.
Councilman Penry stated that wo,rk.will be.started on
t=he Water' Street cave -in• within a few days.
