Widening, of Wasbington St,.,
Council I man Penry,. Chairman of the Street Committee, reported on
thO, proposed widening of 'Nashington Street, between Main, and Water Streets",.,
which improvement' will give m" room - for handling traffic on the Washington
St. Bridge a ' Pproachi, , The C.ity..Engin stated that the - estimated cost
f or this Improvement i approximately $1000.00/ The matter was left
in' the hands of the Street - Committee and City Engineer for plans
and detailed estimate ' a o ' f cost and the filing of necessary
pro-ject statements with the Statd Division of Highways.
Mayor Woodson called the attention of the Street Committee to
the necOssity of re- painting: - the traffic lines on the State Highway
and asked that this matter also be called to the attention of the State
Division of' ;Highways i

The Street C.ommittee reported that upon investigation it was
de.cided to abandon a prop 'sal recently submitted to extend 2nd Street.
Mr. Penryi of the Street Comm'itt'ee, submitted a letter from
'Mr. Geo,i, W. Moore, Jr i Genl. * Mgr: of the Peta Box' Corp. Ltd. who._
Vigorously protes.ted the proposed improvement.. Mir.' Penry further pointed.
out, that 60, - percent 'of the f rontage f or the new street 'would have to
d ome ; e fL r..om the' pr of the Petaluma Box Gorp.. and that the cost
involved, would . ba prohibitive.

gravel. -waS not properly graded and that ea load had not been weighed
City Engineer Gonzalez r-'6ported. that he-fhb:d_tTast1e,d the :gravel and found
that it.met the required s"pecificati,ons And that wh'il,e each -load of the
gravel• delivered was not weighted that each load was considerably in
excess of the required amount. The matter was: referred to the
Street-, Committee and City Enginaet for further investigation.
