Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called to
order by Mayor Woodson.
ROLL CALL:

and Mayor Woodson.
READING OF THE JOURNAL:
T minutes of the last regular meeting of April 3rd. were read
and approved as recorded. ' .
REPORTS OF OFFICERS:.
The.repor, o the Building, Plumbing, and Electrical.Inspector
for the months, of January, February, ,and ,Marsh, was read and filed.
The L•ibrariants: report for the month of March was read and filed.
The Clerk reported the filing -of Affidavits of Publication of
Notice to Bidders re purchase of materials for Thompson.Creek Drainage
Tube, and Ordinances Nos. 508, 509, and, 510 C.S.
REPORTS OF STANDING COM MITTEES .:
The Finance Committee submitted its report, whereupon
Resolution ,#5006 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Gervasoni, seconded by Councilman Myers, direct-
ing 'the Auditor to draw warrants (Nos. 2713 to ,2821 inclusive) against
the various City Funds in payment of claims allowed and approved by the
Finance Committee, adopted by 7 affirmative votes.

ADOPTION OF ORDINANCES
r . nance No. . 50E introduced by Councilman Penry, seconded by
Councilman entitled "An Ordinance of the City of Petaluma
providing for `the improvement of Thompson Creek in the City of ,Petaluma,
California consisting of the construction by the Works Progress Admin-
istraton of t -he United States of America of a concrete drain tube in
Thompson Creek along "F' ":Street from the n�ortheas line of Third
Street to the-northeasterly line of Second Street; providing for the
purchase by the C'ity.of .Petaluma of certain materials required in said
improvement, work which: said Works Progress, Admiriistrations requires to
be purchased by said City; adopting the plan of said improvement work
and the'specifications for materials to be furnished by the City therefor,
prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk" came up
regularly and was adopted by 7 affirmative votes. '
Ordinance No. 509 C.S. introduced by Councilman Gervasoni, seconded
by Councilman Deiss, entitled, "An Ordinance of the City of Petaluma
providing for the registration and licensing of` bicycles in this City,
and providing penalties for violation thereof," came up regularly
and was adopted by 7 affirmative votes,
Ordinance No. 510 C..S. introduced by Councilman Myers, seconded by
Councilman. Peters, entitled, An Ordinance providing for the holding
of the General °Municipal le,ction in the: o f uma for the purpose
of electin g certain cit y regularly and was adopted
by 7 affirmative votes.

proceeded to open and read said bids, whereupon -

Councilman Berger reported that there wi'll be a demonstration
of a resuscitator at the Fire 'Station on 'Tuesday evening April
25th at''7 .o'clock. Hd invited the members o(:' the City Council
and. City U fficers to b present and view the-demonstration.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Councilman P.enry r eported that his committee lad studied
the matter of opening Galiand Street and had decided that the
cost of °said opening.was prohibitive at this time. - Following
the recommendation of the committee., the- matter was dropped for
the time being.
A request from the Poultry Producers that the City fill
in.the IntOrsection of Copeland and Madison Street, was referred
to the Street Committee.
