HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2018-103 N.C.S. 06/18/2018Resolution No. 2018-103 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR'S OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES DESIGNATION OF APPLICANT'S AGENT RESOLUTION FOR NON -STATE AGENCIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF OBTAINING CERTAIN FEDERAL FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE UNDER PUBLIC LAW 93-288 WHEREAS, the October 2017 California Wildfires, FEMA Disaster #DR 4344, burned more than 5,000 structures in Sonoma and Napa Counties; and WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma provided assistance to local authorities and the evacuees in the form of law enforcement and fire personnel deployment and the opening of shelters as well as an Emergency Operations Center; and WHEREAS, claims for reimbursement of costs incurred have been formally submitted to FEMA, the County of Sonoma and the Sonoma County Sheriff's office; and WHEREAS, the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services Designation of Applicant's Agent Resolution for Non -State Agencies is required in order to obtain federal financial assistance under Public Law 93-288 as amended by the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988, and/or state financial assistance under the California Disaster Assistance Act. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Petaluma City Council approves the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services Designation of Applicant's Agent Resolution for Non -State Agencies filing of an application to the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
