Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called
to order by Mayor Woodson.
ROLL CALL:
resent: Councilmen Dess, Gervasoni,,; Myers, Penry, Peters,. and
Mayor Woodson.
Absent: Councilman Berger.
READING OF THE JOURNAL:
The gym.nu es o.r e last regular, meeting of July 5th, 1939,
were read and approved asrecorded.
REPORTS 'OF OFFICERS:
ThamontFily reports of the P'oundman and the Librarian were read
and filed.
The City Engineer filed specifications for paving of light traffic
street-a,' which were referred. to the Chs rman' of the Street Committee
and the_ City. Attorney for-revi.ew.
Estimate of materials needed for the completion of Thompson-Creek
Tube up to the Southerly' line of First, Street was , submitted by the
City Engine.er.and: referred to the Street Committee And Finance
Committee for review and - rercommend'ation.
The Clerk reported the - filing of Affidavits of Publication of
Ordinances No. 513 and 514.C.S. and Notice to Bidders re purchase'of
a dump truck for the Street Department.

ADOPTION OF ORDINANCES:

by Councilman Gervasoni, entitled, "An.. Ordinance of the City of
Petaluma creating and dividing the City 'into certain districts or zones,
,an'd regulating the ' u ,.e of property and thel location of various industrie:
And business or commercial, est.abli,shments; .prescribing penalties for the
violation of this ordinance ;_ and :repealing all., ordinances in conflict
herewith "r came up regularly and was 'adopted by 6 affirmative votes,

Ordinance No 514 C.S. in:troduc.ed by Councilman Gervasoni,
seconded by Councilman Penry,, entitled,, "An Ordinance of the City of
Petaluma provadi'ng, for the purchase of a, dump truck for the Street
Depa-r-tment fbr a sum not more than $1300. and the two model "T" Ford
Trucks now owned by the Street Department which are to be applied on
the purchase price of said dump truck" came up regularly and was
adopted by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee
NEW BUSINESS:

This being. the time set for opening bids for the purchase of a
dump truck for the, Street Department., the Clerk reported having
received five bids and proceeded to open and read said bids as follows:

The; bids submitted were referred. to the Street Gommiee
and Street Superintendent for recommendation. In this t � t c , onnectdon
Mr.,Mqrphy of the Murphy Chevrolet Co. advised that orders should
be placed immediately due t.o the strikes in the East.
Annexation.- South City Line:
A delegation of property owners adjacent to the South City
Line attended the meeting. Mr. W. Gochrane address;ed-the Council
stating that the proparty owners on Cbchr'ahe Way were 100% in,
favor of the annexation with the. pos exc�eptibh of one pa . rty
who lives out of town and c not be contacted; that with the
exception of one person all those, 'Oft Baker" Court Were in, favor
of the annexation and that on Grand View Avenue about 75% were
in favor and 25% opposed to said annexation.
The matter was discussed and the Street Committee a:sked, to
determine just how much territory should be included in said
annexation and to bring in their recommendations to the City
Council at the .next meeting..
