RE4I11G TEE JOURNAL: .`,The iii nutes of the last regular meeting of December 11-, 1939 were read and approved as recorded. REPORTS OF OFFICLRS: The L_ibrariais report for the 'month of November was read and filed. Estimate of cost for the construction of a tennis court in Oak Hill Park as a. proposed v. P. A. project was read and placed on file. Later brought up under head of New Business and referred to the Finance Committee and Park Comtriss on for investigation and report at the next meeting. REPORTS OF STANDING COflT1I•TTl✓'ES: :: The.Finance Committee submitted its .report, whereupon Resolution.+ 5091 C. S introduced by Councilman Gervasohl,, seconded by Councilman Aiyers, directing the Auditor to. draw,wrarrants.Nos 11 to 1615 inclusive against the various City Funds in payment claims allotived and approved, by the Fi-nance Committee, adopted by 6 Affirmative votes, 1 absentae. .WT BUSIIT NESS z Llemorandum of Agreement for expenditure of lA cent- Gas Tax on State Highways for the 1939 - 41 bienium was re ad and filed and Resolution # 5092 C. S. introduced by Councilman Peery, seconded by Councilman Berger, approving said !Jpmorandura of Agreement and directing the Mayor, and C ity Clerk to sign the same on'be half' of the City of Petaluma, adopted by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee. City Attorney Karl Brooks reported that a damage -.suit had been filed in the Superior. The amount of the alleged damages is 66500.00. Councilman. Penny reported - ,,that the road through Oak Hill Park is badly cut up by the heavy traffic and suggested that the present road' be closed and a new road be constructed paralleling t- south boundary of the park and connecting. Park Avenue and Pleasant Street. The.:matter , wa , s referred to the ' Park Oommis on and the Finance Committee. Councilman Berger reported' that patrons of the Smith Auto Laundry were parking their vehicles across: the sidewalk; making it necessary for pedestrians to walk out into the street. The matter:•vias referred to the Chief of Police for .investigation. Councilman Berger. also ,reported that he had received a complaint regarding the dumping of rubbish along Levee Street. This eras referr -.ed to the Street Superintendent for investigation. The ,matter of routing all heavy truckzstraffic around the ,business section was brought up -by Chief of Police Peters and .referred to the Street Comiittee, Chief' of Police and Fire Chief for further study. Mayor T;aoodson' complimented the Street Committee and Street Department for the splendi�'d -manner in which the W. F. A. curb project is being handled. Councilman Penry reported that the se*a-ge treatment plant is now operating; at a very hi-h :degree of effic iency..
