HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 98-215 N.C.S. 10/05/1998 1 Resolution No. 98-215 N.C.S. 2 of the City of Petaluma, California 3 AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATTON TO THE CALIFORNIA STATE 4 DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FOR FUNDING 5 UNDER THE HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIPS PROGRAM; THE EXECUTION OF 6 A STANDARD AGREEMENT IF SELECTED FOR SUCH FUNDING AND ANY 7 AMENDMENTS THERETO; AND ANY RELATED DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO 8 PARTICIPATE IN THE HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHII'S PROGRAM. 9 10 11 WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma, a political subdivision of the State of California, wishes to apply 12 for and receive an allocation of funds through the HOME Investment Partnerships Program 13 (hereinafter referred to as "HOME"); and 14 15 WHEREAS, the California Department of Housing and Community Development (hereinafter 16 referred to as the "Department") has issued a Notice of Funding Availability for the HOME program 17 and is authorized to approve funding allocations which will be made available directly through the US 18 Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to be used for the purposes set forth in Title 19 II of the Cranston-Gonzalez National Affordable Housing Act of 1990, the implementing regulations 20 set forth in Title 24 of the Code of Federal Regulations, part 92, and Title 25 of the California Code of 21 Federal Regulations, part 92, and Title 25 of the California Code of Regulations commencing with 22 section 8200; and 23 24 WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma wishes to submit an application to obtain from the Department an 25 allocation of HOME funds; 26 27 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Petaluma shall submit to the Department an 28 application to participate in the HOME program in response to the NOFA issued on August 28, 1998 29 which will request a Rental New Construction funding allocation for a proposed 88-unit rental 30 apartment complex currently known as "Old Elm Village," located at 359 West Payran Street, 31 Petaluma, CA. 32 33 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that if the application for funding is approved, the City of Petaluma 34 hereby agrees to use the HOME funds for eligible activities in the manner presented in the application 35 as approved by the Department and in accordance with regulations cited above. It also may execute 36 any and all instruments necessary or required by the Department or HUD for participation in the 37 HOME Program. x«omi~~,Na. 98-215 N.C.S.
