COMITTEES: Tie nance omm t.ee su' muted its report,. whereupon Resolution #5101 C..S. introducced by Councilman Ge'rvasoni, seconded by Councilman T. , Iyers, direct- ing the Auditor to draw'warrants (NOsa. ' 1863 to W07 inclusive) against the various City Funds in payment 9f'-claims allowed and approved by the Finance Committee, adopted by 7 affirmative votes. PETITIONS: AND COTiTSUNICATIGNS Notice from , an e Americ egion of a meeting of the Promote Petaluma, Playground Committee, read and filed. Petition from property owners on Hill .Blvd. asking t hat Hill Boulevard., between Hayes Street and. Orchard Lane, be improved. as a VI.P.A,. project, by ins- tolling thereon curbs, gutters and pavement, was read and placed on file. The matter was referred to the Street Committee and City Engineer for investigation and estimate of cost, to report back at the next, meeting.. In connection with said petition, 11r. .Don Keller-addressed the Council, r epresenting the property owners on said street, and stated that, said 'mp;rovement is very much desired by the property,.owners and that they understood and were willing to pay %n. advance for the cost of materials for said work. Communication from J'. C. Crase, Temporary Chairman of Petaluma Recreation Board, enclosing a copy of Articles of Association proposing to eztab ish the luma Recreation Board, read and filed, and Resolution x`5102 c. S. introduced by Councilman Myers, seconded by Councilman Peters, resolving that the Council of the City of Petaluma does take official notice of said Petaluma Recreation Board and assure the members thereof that. approves of the formation of said Board, and the purposes for which it, was formed, and extends its assurance of full cooperation in the accomplishment of said purposes and whatever assistance it may give from time to time., adopted by 7 affirmative votes. Communication from the Fourth Distract Agricultural Association stating that work had been received from the Department of Finance that all moneys for appropriations to, Agricultural Associations had already been allocated for this year and therefore the building of a pavilion would have to be abandoned for this year, "read and filed. The letter further stated that there is a possibility that new allocations of State Funds for purposes of this kind will be made again: after July 1 of this year. Letter from Lewis H,. Martinse-n of the Sunny Slope Dairy, asking that the City Council 'inveistigate the payments made by the various dairies into the Milk Fund of this City,,stating that he believed that the payments made by some of the dairies were not in the correct amounts , . The matter was referred to the City Attorney and the Milk Inspector for investigation. NEW. BUSINESS: TrrKEsfer of funds Resolution 45103 P.S. introduced by Councilman Gervasoni, seconded by Councilman Peters, directing the Auditor and Treasurer to transfer the sum of $250.50 from the- General Fund to the Street Fund. for rent,dl :of street equipment Used during the construction 'of the Thompson Creek, Drainage Tube, adopted by 7 affirmative votes. Councilman J. E Penry reported that property owners on Baylis's.Stre.et are desirous of opening and improving said street to the packing plant of the Poultry Producers and wish to aubmit same as a W.P :.A. project. Mayor Woodson reported that the Poultry Producers are willing to deed Lot 12. of Block 26,, "to the City of Petaluma in order to complete the opening, of said street. The matter was referred to the Street Committee and City 'Engineer .: A discussion was had regarding the increasing of the Present W.P:A.. blanket project from $22,000. to $50,000,., Councilman Berger suggesting that it might expedite some of the. contemplated Street improvements if two crews were provided, one Crew to do curb-and gutter work and another crew to do street improvement Work. The,8e :matters were ,referred t.o the Street Committee for inve:stigati.on and recommendation,. Mayor Woodson reported that he had recently .learned, that bids for the straightening o-[ the State Highway north and south.of Petaluma 'will be opened about the end of Marchand that actual work will probably about the middle of Apri .: Maycr Woodson also, r eported on the interesting meeting of the North Bay .League of California Cities, recently held 'in Vallejo. American Alley storm drain Mayor'Woods'on asked the Street Committee to consider the se y p station of th - e, sPorin and sanitary severer lines in American Alley at this time., which ,improvement would rectify the poor drainage of the alley at present. Mr. Wm. Bihn, of the Young Democratic Club spoke to the Counci urging the construction of the contemplated tennis court in Oak Hill Park. Mr. Theodore Matzen was present as a representative from the Petaluma Central Labor Council.
