to order by Mayor Woodson:

and Mayor Woodson.

READING OF THE JOURNAL

were read and approved as recorded.

REPORTS OF STANDING CO101:IITTEES :
Th e Finance CommITTee submitted its- report, whereupon
Resolution x`5154 C..:S.
introduced by Councilman Deiss, seconded by Councilman Myers, directing
the Auditor to draw warrants (Nos. 137 to 251 inclusive,). against the
various City Funds in payment of claims allowed and approved by the
Finance Committee, adopted by 6 affirmative votes, l absentee.
PETITIONS' AND COMMUNICATIONS:
Ap plication from the Shell Oil Company for permission to
conduct a.public fireworks display at the Sonoma Marin County Fair,
read and filed, and
Resolution #5155 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Berger, seconded by Councilman Myers, granting
said permit, adopted by 6 affirmative votes, l absentee.
Special Bulletin from the Executive Secretary of the League
of California Cities relating to National' Defense, read placed on
file.
Communication from Karl Brooks, City Attorney, reporting that
all of "thee'property owners owning property north of the City and using
the Cit Sewer System have applied for a permit and paid the required
fee of 1- for each sewer connection, read and filed.
Communication from Richard J. Tindale, asking permission to
rent the, space between the drinking fountain and the town clock on
We tern Avenue gust off Main Street for a popcorn machine, and objecting
to the license fee in connection therewith, read and filed. - Later
brought up under the head of'New Business and it was the consensus
of opinion that the request be laid on the table as it:,is not the
intention of the City Council to change the license ordinance at this
time:
Resolution from the Board of City Planning Commission
recommending the granting of a conditional variance to Howard B.
Tingley and - Hazel Z. Tingley, his wife, together with a copy of the
Notice of Hearing on Petition for Variance, a copy of the Certificate
of Mailing 'Notices'., and the Affidavit of Publication of the Notice
of Hearing, which documents were read and placed on file

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
R. Pu.nam. addressed the Council stating that he
is wilding to accept $20,00 from the City in payment for expenses
incurred in repairing a house .sewer alleged to have been damaged
when thQ_..storm .sewer w:as installed on B. Street., The matter
was referred to the Street - Commi -ttee and City Attorney.
The improvement of Bayliss 'and Copeland Streets as' a
1 11. P. A. Project was again discussed and referred back to 'the
Street Committee for further investigation.
