and Mayor Woodson.'
READING OF THE CALL FOR MEETIN:G:,
Mie',Clerk read, t call Torl meeting, the 'consent of the
members, of the City Council to the holding of said meeting, and the
certifi,cate of the Clerk of the -mailing of said calls f or special
meeting,.
Re Cavanagh claim:
..A di-scUs was had upon -a proposal t settle,, for the
total sum of $5 the case of J E'. Cavanagh et al. Vs. City of
Petaluma et al. including the judgment entered on the 14th d ay of
July, 1939, in the Superior Court in and-for the of Sonoma,
State of California, No. 2 and the' proceedings, for a writ of
mandate to enforce'the,payment of said,judgment by the levy and
collection of taxes therefor... City Attorney' Brooks. reviewing the
action 't!o date, and recommending that said compromise settlement be
made,,
-It, was the consensus of opinion that said compromise settlement
be accepted, whereupon

authorizing the City Attorney and hi,s associate counsel,, Orrick,,
Dahlquiat, Neff.--and'He'rrington, to settle for and on behalf of this

J. E. n Cavanagh, etc for the total sum of 0'00..00i, payable in two

fiscal ye,6r July 1, 1940 to June 30, 1941, and the second; installment
of �211500 0 payable from taxes levied and collected for-that purpose

affirmative votes.
