The Street, Committee, was granted further time to report on the
request for the, improvement of G Street, b6tween 6th. and 8�
th Streets,.
The attention of the Street Cormnittee and Department vas i cAixle&
to the recent request for the improvement-of the storm drain 'culvert
on Mt'. View Avenue.
Reports 'were, made by the, City Eingin Supt. Of Streets:
mayor Vlobdson, and �Councilman Berger regarding
progress the' rogrers of

constructing the .levees for the dredging project being explained
that difficulty had been encountered in th e crossing of a slough,
30 feet wide where the. soil was so soft that a - drag line' machine
had s,lipped and mired into it and considerable fill,vas - re . quired.
This had resulted I a delay -ay in, the dredging operations and an
additional c. to the City, . it being necessary for the • City' to
provide labor and materials to strengthen the levees.* Supt. of
Streets Oscar G-lahn reported that it - would be necessary f or him -to
empIdy m.ore - labor and that, it - had been sugge'sted by Captain Pond
and Captain 8aunders of the War Department that 500 or 1000 8 a-rdDag s
be used as The Sup erintendent of Streets was;
authorized 'to continue With any Work necessary on the part, of the
City.
