June'30, 1941.
Adjourned meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called
to order by Vice - President Leland 11yers.
ROLL- CALL :
resent: Councilmen Berger,. Deiss, Gervasoni, Myers, Penry, and
Peters.
Absent: Mayor Woodson.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS:
`The C' erk reported the filing of , Affidavit of Publication of
Notice to .Bidders re Official Advertising":
PETITIO AND C.OT
Letter from Kuppi.nger and Pinkham. complaining about the poor
condition of the streets over which their trucks are routed, read, and
filed, and referred to the City Attorney f reply.
NQV BUSINESS
Official Advertising:
This being the time set for opening bids for the official advertising
of the City of .Petaluma, the Clerk reported having received one bid
from the Petaluma Argus- Courier',.Whereupon
Resolution #5'268 C.:S.
introduced by Councilman Gervasoni, seconded by Councilman Deiss,
acceptiftg bid of the Petaluma Argus- Courier; and declaring said
Petaluma Argus- Courier to be official newspaper of the City of
.Petaluma for the fiscal year'1941 -42, adopted by 0 affirmative votes,
1 absentee.
Re additional funds for Hopper & Jefferson_Sts:
Resolution ,5269 C_.S.
introduced by Councilman Penry, seconded by Councilman Berger, approving
the memorandum of agreement for expenditure of the 1/4 cent gas tax for
the fiscal year 1942 for streets of major importance; and directing the
Mayor and City Clerk to sign said Memorandum of Agreement, - adopted by
6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee.
Councilman Berger reported that the dredger is now in Petaluma
and will begin work dredging the Petaluma River within the next fetid days-.
Attorney Brookaztat.�d that it had been rumored that he intended to
resign as City Attorney,.and to discontinue the practice of law, and he
wished to go on record as stating that it is-not his intention to do
either one of these things.
