Councilman King brought up the matter of the possibility of , offering a site for the proposed Civil. Aeronautics Airport. The matter Was discussed,.Nayor Woodson reporting that he understood that the city or county which ' sponsored the pro je:ct would have to assume the cost of maintenance of the airport, and that the project Would involve a large sum of money'. The "matter of permitting the School Department to place "slow" Signs on the streets around the Lincoln, Philip SWee.d,, McKinley,, and• schools, was referred'to City Attorney Brooks Mayor Woodson reported that at a recent meeting the Park. , C ommis s ; on voted to proceed with the digging of a new well ' at Walnut Park and also to place additional lights in said park:. Superintendent of Streets Oscar Glahn was authorized to Droceed with the placing of new curbs and gutters for 500 feet on the west side. of 2nd Street, between C and D Streets, and on a part of C Street in the vicinity where the public, weighing scales for trucks are located. The matter of preparing plans and specifications for the re- surf.acin : of Hopper- and Bridge Streets was referred to the Street Commit tee: to take up with the City Engineer. City Attorney Brooks reported that revised,plans and specifications for the re= surfacing of D Street had been. submitte °d to 'him by Vhe City Engineer and would be forwarded to the; Highway Division f:or City Attorney Brooks also reported that he had received reply to his communications to the Petaluma &. Santa Rosa and the Northwestern .Pacific 'Railways Frith regard to the raising and improving of their track .crossings,.. lie was requested to send. a follow -up' letter to said companies.
