Observation Post
Plans' an sp�ec'if cations for 'the construction �of an Observation
Pont were submitted by the City Engineer and placed on file.
Opinion of the City Attorney regarding the construction of a
buil on the -roof of the New Hotel Petaluma to be used as an observation
Post read and filed.

'exhibit to April 14 for five days, read and filed, whereupon
Resolution #5384 G.S.
introduced by Councilman Deiss, seconded by Councilman Seidell, granting
said change of date, adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
Resignation, of J. Paul Sale's as a member of the Petaluma Defense
Council was 'read and filed and referred to the Petaluma Defense Council.
The Clerk was a -stied to write Mr. Sales a letter of commendation for his
splend -id work on the Defense Council.
Notice of a meeting, of the California. State Council of Defense
to - b :e held 'in Los Angeles April 15 'to 17 was read and filed. Councilman
Otto Berger was asked to attend the meeting and in the event that he is
unable to do so to select a delegate.
Letter from the Petaluma Hotel Company granting- to
the City of Petaluma to erect an Observati Post on the roof of the Hotel
Bldg, read and filed.
Proposal.from John H. Frahm to construction the Ob servation Post
for a, sum of $150.00. according to plans and specifications, read and
filed, and

accepting the offar of Petaluma Hotel Company authorizing 'the buildir
of an Observation Post for use of defense units, including the work of
the Fourth Interceptor Command of the United States Army,, and authorizing

Committee and Chief of Police for study and recommendation.*
In connection with the subject o , f parking, Councilman 'King
stated. that a number of merchants were of the opinion that the
marking of cars against over--time parking should not be carried on
as 'frequently. by the, police as at present' as there are now more
parking SpAce's. The matter `was left in the hands of -Chief Peters;
